Hi all,

Looking to buy the Feser Xchanger - Quad Radiator 480 when I start getting my water cooling parts.

What's its performance like compared to the Thermochill PA120.3?

I'm pretty sure it will fit in my case, Silverstone TJ07-WB. Has anyone got it in this case?

Hope someone can give me some info.

Thanks,

RoEy

Nice rad,got one for my Lian li V2000

They will fit any rad with 120mm fans, they also come with 2 leds that fit into the shroud, but if you have the thermochill i would get the shroud from them as well tbh.

I have the black ice 480 in my lian li v2000, cooling both my 8800Ultras and my Q6600, though imo it doesnt actually give that much performance over a triple rad.

Just looks better lol

What do you plan on cooling? Hopefully it's more than the CPU and NB.

CPU & GPU. I plan to overclock cpu to around 4ghz though (core i7 920) so do you think it's also a good idea to cool nb? I'm looking to get ASUS Rampage II Extreme MB so will it have sufficent enough cooling on the nb?

Thanks for images clone, they look superb! What temps are you getting?

What are the shrouds for then? Never seen them before.

Thanks,

RoEy

Not running it yet as im waiting on my case being modded :)
They are Feser shrouds they cost about £10 each but if i was to do it all again i would get hold of some cheap 120mm fans and take the motor and blade out and use them tbh.

But why do it? I'm guessing it helps rad run cooler?

EDIT: It gives direct air cooling. Sweet. Might do this also.

what sort of temp drop do the shrouds give..FESER say 20% which seems a bit high,
and if i fit em fan, shroud,RAD, shroud and fan would i see any benefit at all?
i have about 6 fans lying about i could strip out :)

The shrouds basiccally elleviate the problem of having a dead spot behind the fans, this helps more air to be pushed through more surface of the rad making it cooler

Would I be able to fit it with shrouds in my case though as I'll also have psu running beside it?

No dont think you can run the shrouds with your case this was the main reason i whent for the older v2000 as there is plenty of room in the lower section.
Just ordered another 4 yates to put on the other side of my rad to help draw out the air as ive fitted filters on the intake side.

I'm sure it will be cool enough without the shrouds anyway. Thanks for the info.

Unless your rad thrives of high cfm fans to help it cool then the shrouds arent worth it, i have a black ice 480 and it really needs high cfm fans to get the best performance out of it which is why i am considering these shrouds, and having a v2000 case then plenty of room for the shrouds along with my 8 fans on the rad atm.
