That the public beta or the closed one for the 8 people that actually bought Soulstorm?

Here's what you need to know:

* The beta will be hosted via Steam and offered exclusively to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm owners on January 21, followed by a worldwide public release on January 28.

* The beta will feature all four playable races, five multiplayer maps, and Microsoft's Games for Windows - Live TrueSkill Matchmaking.

To make it more tactical and based on the tabletop counterpart where you don't actually build bases but strategically pick your units and move them strategically.

So in the new one do you just pick a side and then you have to try and win with that? No building anything?

I cant decide which pre order to go for for the "bonus content"

Sgt Tarkus - Bolter/grenades
Sgt Activus - heavey bolter/missile launcher
Sgt Cyrus - upgraded Scout marine
or Assault Marine Sgt Thaddeus - chainsword/bolter

I used Sniper scouts and Assalt marines a lot in the previous DOWs but there is nothing more satisfying than a heavy bolter or missle launcher causing mayhem. At the moment i suppose there's no way to tell what will be the best to go for, being the 10th owner of SS looks like i'll have to try the beta
