Depression and anxiety are what she's got. It's taken almost 7 months for her to get put on that medication. It has to be prescribed by a consultant psychiatrist now and until recently she's been doing the merry-go-round of various different medication until they decided to put her on this current stuff (which she used with success about 8 years ago). Why they couldn't just cut to the chase in the beginning I don't know

New guidelines and all that, I suppose.
She's just reached the end of the side effects stage which, compared to the other meds she has tried recently, has not proved to be too unpleasant. With any luck in another 6 months or so she can go down to a maintenance dose, then stop taking them altogether.
As for 'sharing' her medication lol, after seeing what she has had to cope with side effect wise, on balance (and purely from a personal view) I'd not put myself through all that to make myself feel better. But that's just me
I think we all have the capacity to overcome just about anything if we use will power and discipline and god knows she has enough of that given the effort she has put into her degree and masters and her career since. The main issue seems to be low self esteem though, so coupled with the medication, she is seeing a councillor and the head shrinker every 3-5 weeks or so.
On a more serious note, I'd just like her to get better and for her to rediscover the sunny, vivacious woman she was when we first met, so whatever it takes she has my full support.
