Dead Space - Survival Horror is Back

I completed it at the weekend and thought it was excellent although the amount of underwear changing decreased the closer I got to the end. Going to start it again some time soon as I went for the achievement where you only use the Plasma Cutter so I have no idea what the other guns are actually like.
 
Loving it so far. Getting more used to using the 360 pad now but i still had to use the mouse on the bit where you have to shoot the asteroids lol.
 
Well I just started this, only 25 minutes in and have had to stop as Eastenders is about to start!

The graphics are VERY impressive. I love the atmosphere as well, with the smoke, and lighting looking particularly impressive. Had a few jumpy moments and looking forward to getting into it in more detail.

I love the menus as stuff as well, the way they are displayed in front of the character so you can carry on playing :)
 
Borrowed this off a mate and finished last night. Amazing game, not perfect but really atmospheric and tense. Probably the best survial horror i've played in a long time, seeing as Resi Evil has turned more into an action game now (not thats a bad thing). The ending was different and i watched the DS animated film after which explains how they get on the ship. All in all an impressive game and look forward to see what they do with a sequel.
 
Not even finished chapter 1 and I think this game is the best horror game I've played since Resident Evil : Nemesis. It's even better than Doom3 I think

They just have everything right. Love all the features for easy game play.

Probably a bit too dumbed down (comeon you have a map you don't need the right button as well to highlight your route) but I suppose it's for the generation that need a tom tom to get to school in the morning.

Still it makes the game easy to play.

Had a couple of scary moments in game where I was concentrating on one mob far away only to have another one jump me from behind..... lol

Gotta say the game is brill on the PS3 and I highly recommend it.

Bought condemned 2 at the same time but it's still on the shelf.... :(
 
LOL, just found out you can use stasis on enemies. It would have been a lot easier if i'd known this :rolleyes:. I'm on chapter 11 so quite near the end now.

Some of the enemies seem out of place and make the game less scary because they are almost cartoon like. The ones I'm talking about have the yellow pods on their arm and make stupid noises.

Great game overall though.
 
Started playing this yesterday after it had been on my shelf since October, really enjoying it. Nothing quite like having to beat an enemy to death with your weapon when you run out of ammo, gets the heart racing :D
 
Now on chapter 3 has anyone rented the DVD of the game.

I've been looking locally for it is it any good?

. I must say the story is great.
 
I just got this today, Gonna try it when i get back from work, I Have watched Dead space downfall and was really impressed so im hoping the game leaves me as impressed :D
 
Completed this a little while ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great presentation, interesting story and characters, and some good twists here and there too. Bit repetitive at times, but it's broken up nicely so you tend not to really notice. Also felt pretty long, think my total time was 16 hours or so. Excellent ending too!
