It might not affect his work but it will defo affect the people who work with and around him!

Because he'd have a big affect on his colleagues if they found out what he is. I know I'd like to smack on his face if I found out he was a pedo.
 
Conduct outside of work can be used as a reason for dismissal but only if it's relevant to the job. In a case where a school groundsman was molesting his daughter, that was obviously relevant. But if the man's job has nothing to do with children and he didn't download the images at work I don't think he should be dismissed.
 
i see.... maybe we should create a closed off area in each town for such undesirables? so they can be away from the normal good citizens....

your there to do a job, if you can't keep it professional then don't work there.

People serve there punishment and should be allowed to work. I wouldn't want to work with people who have been convicted of gbh but I do..

Absolutely absurd you think he should be sacked..

Your basis for firing someone is that they'd cause discomfort to the people at work? So does that mean ex-convicts shouldn't be allowed to work because colleagues would be affected by having a murderer there? Where do you draw the line too? Just paedophiles? Rapists? All sexual offences? Violent crimes? Theft? Looting? The very overweight or ugly?
 
Hmmm, GBH and paedophillia are 2 different things. I know they are both criminal offences but id rather work with somebody who had been done for GBH than a paedophile. And if he is your mate if your ever out and something kicks off you know he will be there to back you up!!

I just wouldnt know how to act around somebody like that.

Tbh the offence of downloading some pictures is pretty minor when you compare it to pretty much any other crime that you would get a prison sentence for.
