Hi all,

I use my debit card for nearly almost every transaction I do, very little do I pay for anything with cash.

Do you lot carry cash any more?

I usually have £50-100 cash on me just in case, but pay pretty much everythig on a credit card.

Haven't used my debit card in ages, don't even know the PIN for it :p

Yes I carry cash. I feel like a tit paying for things that are less than £5 on my card. Then there is also parking.

I often draw out cash and pay with that...I don't know what it is, but I prefer just to hand over the cash, get my change and get out rather than faffing around with some device while the person behind the counter/checkout gives you all these tired, miserable looks.

I only carry notes and plastic in my pockets.

Coins end up being put in a couple of collecting tins (one for copper, one for silver/pounds/two pounds).

I also keep around £5 in change of varying size coins (no copper) in the armrest of my car, so that I can pay to park if I need to.

Same.

I have £55 on me. I prefer cash for things like grocery shopping because checkout is much quicker.

The account linked to the ATM card is deliberately kept running on fumes ( ~ £300 ). Transfers in from 'online only' account, as needed.

I still find cash to be handy so I always try to have some on me, there are still plenty of places that won't accept card payments and like some other people I simply prefer handing over cash for some reason.

I normally have a bit of cash on me, but why £50-£100? I rarely have more than £20 on me, that's when I know I'll have to pay cash like on a night out. Cards are taken almost everywhere and most places don't have a minimum charge any more.

Not a lot, when I do, I tend to throw any change in a polybox I have and weigh it all in periodically. I used to build up lots of money very quickly this way (£100+ a year) as every time I'd break a note I'd put all the change in the box, but over the last 2 years I've built up a mere £25 so that's a real indicator of how little actual cash I spend.

~£20 cash usually does me for food for the week. It's tedious paying for a £3 lunch with plastic every day.

Travelcard and petrol all goes on card. If I'm on a night out, I'll usually put it on card too unless I've overspent for the month in which case I'll take out cash so I know exactly how much I'm spending.

So really, I only keep cash on me for food.

I usually have loose change in the ashtray for parking.

I never carry cash anymore, generally pay for everything with my card (even things that cost a couple of quid!)

But I do have a change tin in the house full of £1, 50p, 20p and 10p coins, so if I know I'll have to park and pay, I grab some out of that.

i virtually never carry cash these days. Everything is paid on card as i find it easier to track my spending that way.

Err how does that work out easier..

If you have £20 in cash and come home with nothing, you know you've spent £20. (or lost it:D)

Checking balances at the machine is never that fool proof with pending charges or DD payments due out on days you forget..
