MSI Neo3-FR or Asus PQ5 Pro

Which P45 board is best and why, I've always been happy with both companies and can't see any real reason to pay extra for the Asus board.

Is the MSI one any good? Any users around here?

personally,

don't go with asus, i have had never but trouble with the p5q-e broad, but saying that asus are normally they good! so maybe don't take my noobish opinion adn listen to someone else lol

All good so far with the MSI, it doesn't have Firewire/eSATA or in fact anything particularly fancy.

Nice enough layout and is currently doing a fine job :)

Forgot to update this, I've bought the MSI.

I currently have a K8N SLi and it's been the most stable board I've ever owned.

Good choice. I would recommend MSI over ASUS anyday, mainly because all ASUS boards I have ever owned have their own strange quirks, mostly to do with the memory slots. ASUS are ok, but MSI and DFI have always done me better. (So has ASRock, strangely enough.)

Yeah I have had an MSI board before, an old neo and it seemed ok till it wouldn't boot my SCSI.

I ditched gigabyte a good few years back and have used Asus since, but the last few boards have made me decide Asus no more!

However, i'm prepared to bite the bullet next time and not mess around with mainstream Mobo manufacturers, i'm gonna get a SuperMicro board next time!
