January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

in the short term that might be a problem but we'll be putting some serious work into getting his strength up. once he's got that strength his size won't worry me as i can think of lots of diminutive but brilliant wide players.

Decent signing for Spurs for £3m. He covers RB for the injured Hutton, offering more going forward than Corluka. Also free's up Corluka to play anywhere across the back, especially LB. This will allow Bale to play LM as his defending has been poor this season... there's a reason he's yet to feature in a single Prem win yet!

I thought most fans hated Chimbonda when he was there, another of those who couldn't give a **** kind of players?!

If he can't get in the Sunderland team why do Spurs want him!

We've bought Tosic, and Evra can easily play on the LW if needed, especially with Fabio in the mix now (pending injury).

Fabio has had one match (well not even that) so I very much doubt Fergie will put our best LB on the wing, where I dont think he has ever played for Utd

We play 50- 60 games a season, and with Fabio being so young he wont be playing more than 20ish games a season at least until 10/11 season

Tosic should be a great player, he did well on his debut (his slight nature reminds me of a young Giggs, albeit a little shorter)

Really dont think Nani is going to be that successful unfortunately - maybe its just 2nd season syndrome, and he will improve over the next few months

I would love another proper wide player at the club, a few players already at Utd can play there but arent anywhere as good as natural wide players, Valencia would be excellent but cant see it actually happening

was disruptive up here, seemed to rub people up the wrong way, fans and his fellow players

didnt settle, nobody wanted to room with him to away games...ssems he is a prize arse..but he already has a history of being a pain at spurs as well, not sure if he is going to help..good player when he wants to play, but its got to be on his terms it seems

most fans liked him

it was only that incident in the carling cup final that made some fans switch

its a stupid signing got too many RBs if it was on loan then that would be different

damn fools at the club

So at RB Spurs now have Hutton, Corluka, Gunter, Chimbonda. Though with all the injuries, the fact Chimbo can play across the back four gives the choice to take less chances with injured players.

He has, he played there a few times earlier in his career. Though I think it's more likely he'd get Fabio to play LW and Evra LWB.

Anderson is only 20 but he's played something like 60-70 games for us now, but I think he's an exception. Saying that, Rafael has played lots.

Reminded me more of Nani, doesn't seem to dribble in and out of people like Giggs in his hay-day, but he seemed even more lightweight than Nani, however, it was nice to see him covering at LB and always moving, he could be good. Need to get him on the Patrice Evra diet though :p.

Really dont think Nani is going to be that successful unfortunately - maybe its just 2nd season syndrome, and he will improve over the next few months
Second season syndrome? He was garbage in the first too :p. Sadly, I was proved right with Nani, but I guess you gotta take a chance, and he's entertained the fans with those goals against Spurs, Middlesbrough, Liverpool and Derby.

Never personally seen what Valencia offers, he seems to be one of those whose career started brightly, but it was proved he wasn't that good in the end. The way we play allows players like Rooney and Tevez to rotate with a wide-player, so I don't think it's that important, we're never struggling for men out wide - many teams would kill for our wide options, most noteably Liverpool.

maybe corluka will more to CB permanently

also forgot chimbonda can play LB and do a pretty decent job of it
