Tropic Thunder - Finally a decent comedy

Just back from seeing this. Definently one of the funniest comedies ive ever seen. Brilliant writing and acting throughout.

Downy Jr was awesome, really played the whole "dude playin a dude disguised as another dude" well.
 
I too watched this last night and have to say, thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really funny, very clever in places and the acting was top notch too.

Definitely worth going to see.
 
Saw this tonight, was pretty poor i thought. Some funny parts, but was never very interested, although Tom Cruise was great in it, and Robert Downey Jnr for the most part. Ben Stiller just really didnt do it for me, i found Jack Black funnier than him which is saying something.
 
I watched this tonight.. thought it was pretty boring!
Cracked a few laughs, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I laughed more in Pineapple Express.

Ben Stiller is now a has-been, and Seth Rogen is the future! :D

Seriously though, movie blowed. 5/10
 
It's quite good, has some real funny moments, but nowhere near the likes of meet the parents. I'd give it a 6/10, Cruise was awesome though.
 
I though it was poor overall with some quite funny moments in.

It's true that Robert Downey Jr and Tom Cruise saved it.

I don't think Downey had a large enough part/lines.
 
Saw this the other day but it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. Pineapple Express was far better and had me laughing all the way through. Tropic Thunder Didn't.
 
Tom Cruise easily the best character, kudos to him! i thought RD Jnr was alright, he just seemed a bit wierd at times i suppose. I thought Jack Black was pretty good! when he was talking about sucking that guys knob is was pretty funny. hehe. Ben Stiller is just not a very good actor/comic actor really

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. It wasn't funny scene after funny scene, but even the unfunny bits were entertaining :). I thought the helicopter rescue scene at the start was great!!
 
does jack black do all his annoying usual stuff in this? can't stand him :E

looking forward to the film though
 
Saw it yesterday and thought it was excellent, Stiller, Downey Jr and Black all played their respective roles/characters extremely well.

Stiller seriously put some work in the gym for this role..

Oh yeah and Tom Cruise! A nice surprise, trying to give his career a well needed boost and for me it worked

Bump.

This is out on DVD now.

Watched this last night and I agree that all the actors played their roles brilliantly and Tom Cruise was awesome. But I just felt the storyline/vietnam setting was crap and that just spoilt the movie for me. There were a few funny moments but I didn't laugh as much compared to films like Zoolander, Anchorman and Stepbrothers.
 
Saw this awhile ago and thought it was brilliant. Loved the cameo that Tom Cruise done...his swearing had me rolling around laughing my head off...didnt think he would or could pull off all that swearing but his was the best part by far in the movie. Robery Downey Jr was also brilliant as the white guy turned black...dont really like Jack Black myself...hes a bit annoying and Ben Stiller is...well Ben Stiller:p.

Awesome movie though.
 
watched this the iother night and got to say other than mconaughey , cruise and some of the RdJnr bits it was pretty lame.

Cruise was awesome in it though :p
 
Can't believe people rating PE above this!

PE is one of the most unfunny comedies I've ever seen, I chuckled a grand total of once.

Seth Rogan also can't act for crap, EVERY movie he is the exact same loser character.

I thought Tropic Thunder was very good, didn't live up to the hype, but still one of the better comedies from 2008.
