He still needs time to settle in, there have been quite a number of games where he has little to no service to then be taken off during the 70th-80th minute mark to be replaced by a midfielder. You can tell from his reactions when he sees his number flashing up on the substitution board that he wants to stay on the pitch and try. Taking him off game after game for the last number of months has done little to improve his confidence, nor has the recent exclusion from the squad for the F.A Cup game against Everton.
