I vote we all burn our copies of Left 4 Dead. Those of us with Steam copies can burn our PCs instead. That was shocking :(

rob1986s fault tho was in a game with him last nite and got proper roasted too, he is worse than my gran

I've had a lot of time to reflect - whilst dead. Possibly the worst team performance I have ever experienced in a Friends-Only game. I think our total score at the end of No Mercy was less than 1k. We only finished one map - and when I say we, I don't include me - the only time I saw a saferoom was at the start of each level :(
 
I got a Mic for a tenner on the way home from work, a Labtec "puck" style one which sits below my monitor out of the way and has mic vents on both ends. Tested in gmail and STEAM and seems good. Now just need a game to test in!

Sounds interesting.

I'm trying to get used to headphones and mic but despite the creative so called 3d sound I get the positioning very wrong from the headphone audio and have been blindsided more than once. It's currently unpluged and went back to no voice but 5.1 so I'd be interested to know if the puck mike works out ok.

I may be on for a shoot later, prob after 10 if anyone fancies some normal or advanced though I have some work to do first... :(

Just did Death Toll with Spudgun, Shooter, and ludix, and yet again no achievement. Good game though, and it was fun watching shooter get raped by the witch :D.
 
Did nobody get it?

I'm a little concerned at people not getting them. I know that sometimes L4D messes up and doesn't give you the achievement...and that if you go idle or the game starts before you connect (e.g. the first level starts rolling) you won't get it... But this seems a bit too much for just those reasons.

Definitely on one of the fragM servers, right?

I'll have time tomorrow to look at them more I hope.
 
How does L4D work on your servers? I mean, do you have to download it to the server? Or do you download a client and just set it to 'Left 4 Dead server"....Or?

Might be worth 're-doing' it maybe =/....Although I can see that taking a while more than likely :p....So ignore me!
 
You give a command to steam to download the server -as per srcds normally really.

"./steam -command update -game left4dead -dir ./"

I'll verify the files/check the plugins tomorrow. Possibly it's just something weird.

I'll be interested this friday night if you want to play then? You already have me on friends...

I ended up in a game last night with Triggerthat, Gecco, pookie and some others and our team won. It was quite funny listening to others laughing down the mic when trigger met his end in the finale, before it even started. I will give his team its dues though, good sportsmanship honours for not RQing. :)

On a slightly different note I haven't crashed in L4d since changing my sound drivers and changing to borderless window mode so yay! :D

Okay, I've verified the files (e.g. deleted them and redownloaded them) and disabled a couple of plugins that are probably defunct with the recent update.

Servers will be back up in the next 5 mins. Let me know how you get along.
