Yep you need to:

1:Add 800 MS points to your gamertag (you can even use your X360 one).

2: Install the GFWL client from MS.

3: Patch Fallout 3 to the latest version and you can then download the DLC from the GFWL client marketplace (594MB).

The DLC will only work if you have a valid serial number & stay connected to GFWL.

However, so far not been able to get it to work as the quest does not appear like it should!!

Can't you buy this in shop or similar? GFWL doesn't let me download updates let alone a whole expansion, it just gives some error that it can't connect ( although the account itself & achievements works fine).

I don't think so, if it was a proper expansion then sure, but it isn't.

Is there any other way to get hold of this addon (legit of course) or only through GFWL? I've got it installed but I don't like it.

Why should it be in the game already? I think Fallout 3 is a huge game by any standards, even as it is - I'm happy to pay for brand new addons personally. Maybe that's just me?

Were does it say that its "brand new content"?

How do you know it wasn't meant to be in the game originally and they cut it just to make DLC?

I don't think it matters mate either way - I still think Fallout 3 is vast, and impressive, and if it helps the devs then I'm happy to put a little extra their way. Having said that, I haven't seen how much it costs yet!!

Your pay for DLC on any console on any format, it's only occasionally you'll get a small nugged of gold that's free.

At first I was annoyed that I would have to pay for it, then I remembered that you had to pay for the DLC for the pc version of Oblivion. Unless you went on the torrent sites.

Not sure pirates will be able to use it as it needs a valid serial number & LIVE loaded up otherwise fails to run. Fails to run at the moment even for those like me who bought the game & bought the DLC (MS are fixing it right now!)
