Fallout3 DLC - Its Here!!

Not sure pirates will be able to use it as it needs a valid serial number & LIVE loaded up otherwise fails to run. Fails to run at the moment even for those like me who bought the game & bought the DLC:( (MS are fixing it right now!)

Pirates ALWAYS find a way.

Regardless...

L...O...L

You think you get all those points on your XBox for free as well?

Your pay for DLC on any console on any format, it's only occasionally you'll get a small nugged of gold that's free.

Other content on PC has been free that console users have had to pay for.

Call of Duty 4 maps, Mass Effect DLC off the top of my head.

Exactly, PC != Console, us folks on PC have never had to pay for DLC, it has always been free.

The only time we pay is if it is a propper full on expansion pack, not a few bits and pieces.

How much DLC has Team Fortress 2 had? new maps, new game modes, extra achievements, more weapons etc etc. NO COST.

Same for a multitude of other games.

So yes, I am rather shocked they are charging for a 'quest pack' on the PC.

heh like that will stop it being pirated :p

might I add, how annoying is the "M$" thing seriously.. grow up a bit :/

How much money is 800 points roughly equivalent to?

Answer -> **approximately** £6.10

One store recently had 2100 points at about £16.00. On a points per pound basis, that equals -> 2100 points / £16 = 131 points per £1.00.

Take the cost of the DLC and divide that by 131 and you'll get £6.10. Obviously if you paid more or less for the 2100points then after all the calculations it will work out higher or lower accordingly than £6.10.

I paid £13.00 for a pack of 2100 points a while back so this would cost me just under £5!

Exactly. Shows you just how cheap pirates are! Next thing they will complain about is why don't they make all PCs game free as they will never buy any anyway and maybe they could also get unlimited bandwidth 100MB dedicated lines to their homes for 50p a month otherwise how will they be able to dwonload all those free games & DLC!

£5 is £5 and not paying anything is not paying anything.

Doesnt matter how much it costs its just not in our PCing blood to have to pay for stuff which has been FREE for as long as anyone can remember.

Console users are prety much like SKY users to me, they seem to not care about being conned into paying extra for stuff that was previously free before they jumped on the bandwagon. (SKY users who now pay for sport that they could have watched for free if they didnt buy it on SKY).

If you want a better explanation to the SKY analogy ill give ;)

There have been a few games now which have charged for DLC, here's the simple way to get round it.

Don't buy it.
If you don't think the enjoyment of the DLC justifies the cost, just stay away. Wait a year and buy GotY, or just don't bother ever and download user made mods.
Win.

What he said. This DLC fad is really starting to annoy me. Its just an excuse to release an unfinished game then charge to fix it, its disgusting

Er, expansion packs have never been free...

Besides, there's apparently a good few hours of gaming worth in this DLC, more than in some full release games.

While I won't be getting it yet, I fully intend to buy them all when all the DLC has been released.

Also, to those saying that Fallout 3 was unfinsished;

Have you actually played it. The game is friggen immense! I literally spent hours wandering around the, so called, wastelands exploring every nook and cranny. Fair enough the ending was a bit crap but I don't think the game was unfinished.

Buying a game is different, this is NOT a game it's an addon pack (well not even that really). Other developers have released content for free so why should they charge for this?

BioWare got it right, that FREE Mass Effect DLC was most welcome. :)

God there is quite a few pc users throwing their toys out in here. If the devs have spent time and money developing extra content don't they have a right to charge for it? It is worth supporting such a good development team.

Yea I have played it and whilst its a great game, this DLC is just another quest. Prob take an hour tops to complete. PC gaming should remain free from paid for DLC, its always been the case and it should continue to be. Most people will only pirate it anyway so its a waste of time ;)

Spent extra time? It was probably completed months ago when they did the main game, they just left it out on purpose so they could charge extra

Hasn't been paid content in years, Valve didn't charge for all the work they've put into TF2 maps, classes and game modes did they?

Points! Points! I had every intention of getting this legally but i'm not supposed to buy it i'm supposed to buy a surplus of Microsoft currency to get it. Well screw you M$ (first time i've ever used that gay abbreviation) if i can't buy the game with real currency then you aren't getting my money.

Sums it up for me!

I think we're just really lucky that valve give us so much free stuff (I guess they make up for it with brand loyalty etc). If someone makes a product I expect to pay for it.
