UK's LOWEST PRICE - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 GFX Card - £144.99 +VAT

Do you know if there any plans for the 4870x2 or aren't you aloud to say?

We having nothing currently in the works for the 4870 X2 but who knows what the future will bring. :)

The 9800 512MB EVGA card on TWO is also a stonker, although not quite on this level.

Damn you, been thinking about a 1gb 4870 to replace my 4850 after getting a 1920x1200 display, now this has got me seriously tempted :p

Couple of questions though, does it come with adaptors for the power connecters, I'm running an Antec 480W PSU which doesn't have any pcie connectors, 4850 works fine off an adaptor from 2 molexes.

Also is it likely to cause problems on that PSU, rest of the system is an E2180 at 3.1GHz, 4Gb ram, 1 500gb and 1 250gb hard drives?

Can anyone found any reviews for this card? Is the cooler much better than the stock/reference one? Just I've got a Lian-Li V350 and I've heard that some 4870's run in the 70's/80's?

basically the same, better in some games, worse in others, but no major difference except the PRICE

cheers

so its works with every game alright now? heard a few storys that people cant play certain games and ATI's software in rubbish.

thing is we me is that i want to upgrade from a 8800GTS 512MB, and would love to get one of the new nvidia cards but dont want to spend stupid money on me comp anymore so need a cheaper option and ive never liked AMD/ATI after things i read up about complaints and such

so stuck on what to do lol

plays all games (FC2, Fallout, Stalker Clear Skies, Crysis, Age of Conan ...). just some misinformed bashing imo

Exactly.

each company has complaints alike but ATI's drivers are not rubbish, the 4870 is a great card and one of the best bang for buck cards in it's range. ATI's new drivers should be here before the end of the month and should fix any current issues people may have regarding the 4870.

cheers again lunarwolf

I should really google this, but laziness aside, is it worthwhile upgrading from a 512MB overclocked Powercolor 4870 to one of these? I'm playing Fallout 3, GTR EVO and FSX at the moment.

Just ordered mine - so should be in the prize draw now as well. Great card & price. Should be a good upgrade from my 8800 GTS.
