January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

That's bizarre if that goes through, Huddlestone is the best passer in Tottenham's midfield, whilst he lacks pace he has definite talent, worth at least double that price.

Disagree whole-heartedly, the whole basis of his game moves sideways at best - he's like an SuperSize Me Ray Wilkins - he completely lacks any form of offensive creativity - one of the most overrated players in the Premiership.

and he's fatter than Lampard.

If Newcastle lose Given they'll get relegated, if they haven't been before.

Don't even know what you even mean by this. How could we be relegated before Given leaves when the transfer window shuts on Monday?

As for getting relegated because of losing Given, I don't agree. If we do get relegated it won't be because of losing Given as Harper is a more than adequate replacement, and would be England keeper (or at least in the squad) if he played regularly.

Still, they've always really only been a lower half premier/top half first division team.

I dunno what you mean by this either? We've always been in either the top half or bottom half? Yeah, I guess we have. If you mean we've always been a mid table team. Hmm...not quite true.

We've finished 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 3rd and 5th in the Premier League are the most recent team to make the CL who haven't been one of the 'top four.'

Nolan scored 5 last season, Smith scored 0.

He's an improvement, just depends how much he's gonna cost.

after calming down somewhat

He's been in a relegation scrap before, he doesn't need time to adapt to the Premiership, we don't need flair we need hardworking brutes

Not a bad signing, depending on the £££ involved, also a lot younger than I thought he was

Still need a defense and striker though

I mean they won't play Xisco because then we have to up the transfer from 2.mil to 5.5 mill, Owen and Martins out, so Carrol from the reserves leading the line

Oh and a creative mid, balls we need a new team minus wingers

Just been in a mood with Toon recently, its showing :)

Indeed I decided to let his comment slide

Hopefully Ebondo will sign so we'll have more defenders, but yeah creative midfielder is still a must. As for striker, I wouldn't say its that much of a priority, given the budget it looks like we got, just because Martins and Viduka should be back soon and Carroll looks half decent. As for the summer though, yeah, need a new striker (or two :o).

IF Ebondo was to come in we could manage

A creative mid is a must, currently ourmidfield just doesn't know what to do

I know we say this every year, but Jan is looking like plug all the holes in a sinking ship, then in the summer if we manage to stay up, rebuild the hull (joke in their somewhere) Our team needs scrapping and starting again, something that the Championship would force us to do, we may be a better team for it , if we were to go down

To me he lacks any kind of desire to cut it at the top level or he would have sorted his undoubted fitness problems out.
