UK's LOWEST PRICE - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 GFX Card - £144.99 +VAT

Glad to hear I'm not the only one :D

Only problem is, my CPU is only clocking to 2ghz at the moment so it's already a bottleneck, but I'm going to try to sort that out this weekend.

So, so tempted.....

edit: oops, just ordered it. I blame too much wine.

I have a similar CPU (C2D [email protected]) and game at a similar resolution (1600x1200). I've just bought one too. I've been considering a new card for weeks and this sale price was the clincher.

Although I've had it sent to an incomplete address, so it can't be delivered. I blame...er...oh damn, I have nothing to blame :)

Just walked in and checked the sales...

Just a headsup that although we purchased enough to last for half a year we may run out before this week only ends.

Anyone holding off towards the end of the offer may want to reconsider!

Well its a great deal mate, no doubt your getting peoples attention from all over the UK for this one :D

Hi, just received mine today :D

Was too lazy to crack the box open upstairs so took a seat and had a peek, the sun was behind me so could see quite well. The card appeared to have collected some dust & also noticed a few scratches on the black casing :( In the sunlight there are a few areas on the casing that showed up similar to when u dont polish your car properly, like rubbed out :(!

Hope i havent got a duff one, also, i cant even test it until the following weekend as this is part of a new build for me :(

Deeammmmmnnn :(

Same and same ^_^ ~ I just hope it can fit in me Antec 900 - which is also in a mess

It will fit easily.

All of our stock arrived new in sealed Sapphire boxes with the security tape not being tampered with. All the cards are new from manufacturer. :)

Just to say it again guys, these are really taking off now news has gone around and we are looking at running out of stock on Monday if they keep selling at this rate.

Suppose that's a good thing, and a bad thing if ya don't get one in time :p

Can't wait to get mine. Curious as to see how bigger increase of fps I'll get in various games. - Also, because I've got a standard E6600 (2.4Ghz), is that a bad bottle-neck for this gfx card? How easy and safe is it to OC the E6600 to something substantial?

I've clocked an E2160, E6550 and E5200 all to 3Ghz or more with little to no effort :D

OK, I could probably do with a new card and this is tempting me. Can anyone tell me if my Enermax Liberty 500W would be up to the job of powering this? Currect spec is e6300 @ 2.8Ghz, GA-965P-DS3, 4GB GeiL RAM, X1900XT, 1TB F1, 320GB 7200.10. Cheers :)

Depends on the cooler? Should be able to hit 3ghz and see a nice boost....

Aye cool, will have to give it a go. I got this in '07 when it was £32, so hopefully it should be adequate enough :p

you should check this page out Slime, see if your psu is on there. I've had a quick look and assuming yours is the 'Liberty Eco ELT500AWT-ECO (500W)', it should be able to support anything upto the HD4870 X2.

Cheers Rymz, I've still got the box so I'll dig it out tonight and check but I'm pretty sure it'll be the same as the one that's listed. It would certainly be a nice upgrade from my X1900XT. It's starting to show it's age a little.
