Glad don't live in south Australia

i lived in l.a for a few months a while back, and the heat took the ****, is **** a bad word ? will it get rubbed out? anyway, heat i love, it makes me feel alive, no matter how hot.

its easier to get cool in hot weather than to heat up in cold.

We hit 45.7 (114.26 degrees F) a couple of days ago, it was 40 degrees today and the forecast is saying it will remain higher than 35 until next Friday. You most definitely do not feel alive when it's 45 degrees, you stay in your house and try and stay cool as best you can. There has been a dramatic increase in the sudden death rate in Adelaide as a result of the weather:

Hehe, my mate lands in Aus today. I probably should've told him about the heatwave whilst he was in Hong Kong, but meh. :p

What complete and utter tosh. What are you? A lizard?

Too cold? Put something warmer on and get on with it.

Too hot? Tke something off? Lie around unable to do anything?

40c+ isn't too bad

It hit those temps a few years ago when I was on holiday in Magaluf, just happened to be on the day we were playing in a 6 a side tournament, it was hard work being hungover and playing in that heat heheh

Just walking around didn't feel that bad though

40°C+ is nice.

Have you ever tried to live in it? I'm Australian, and I can tell you that 40°C+ for an extended period is no fun at all.

After the first few days, you're suffering. After a week, you're in hell. Train services break down because the rails are buckling; air conditioners break down because they can't handle the load; power grids black out because they're overstressed; everyone gets touchy and irritable and downright nasty because they're so fed up with the blinding heat; your lawn dies and you can't water it because you'll be fined if you do; everything you touch is burning hot, and you can't leave the house without smothering yourself in sunscreen.

40°C+ might be OK if you're on holiday and you don't have anything else to do. But when you're working and trying to get on with all the normal, boring things of everyday life, it's sheer agony.

I can imagine it being hell to live in, though we did walk the entire length of the vegas strip (nearly anyway - luxor to stratosphere) in 40+. Guess it's kind of cheating going into a casino every 15 minutes to cool off with a beer thouh :D

Been to India, Cyprus and Greece all of which were at 40ish C, and must say I loved it in the heat. Provided I didn't have to walk anywhere, air con and beach are nice :P

Exactly. Holidays are different. Real life is just not like that.
