Both of those for multiplayer.

For singleplayer, I'd say the Freespace 2 mod packs, makes an awesome gamer legendary. Also the guys over at armadafleetcommand for continuing to make new mods for Birth of the federation, after all these years they are still modding, new ships, new mods, new balancing :)

-Frogbot Clan Arena for Quakeworld (I've yet to see better deathmatch AI)

-ezQuake for Quakeworld (easily the most advanced game client I've ever seen)
-KTX for Quakeworld (essentially just a competition mod, has a lot of great features for specs too though)
 
Gatherer and Titan Panel for WoW - Defo got my use out of them back in my WoW days thats for sure!

Not really modded any FPS games, don't really mod much at all tbh.... guess thats down to downloading poor attempts at mods in the past so now i just play the game for what it is rather then a different adaptation, i will see if there is anything worth looking at once i get TF:2 off my g/f for Valentines day (yeah i know its only a few days away but the wait is killing me!)

- Cinema mod for Max Payne 2 - unlimited bullet time, enhanced soundtrack, all kinds of awesome :cool:

- Some sound mod for Soldiers: Heroes of WWII - added Call of Duty & Medal of Honor sounds to the campaign. Nazis spoke german and epic orchestral scores rang out as you fought on the battlefield.

- Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942

- 21CW mod for Battlefield 1942 - basically enhanced Desert Combat with an ongoing campaign in which you were part of a platoon. A full command structure was included.
 
Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942, and none of the current Battlefield games still match or even surpass the gameplay of DC for BF1942.
 
Oh I dont know how I could pick from all of the amazing dawn of war mods that have come by, possbily the daemonhunter and steellegion mods stand out, but there have been soooooo many.
The tyranid mod was also good.
Also there was a harlequin mod that reached beta stage, I usually hate harlequins but they were so much fun to play.

........just too many to choose from.
 
First Strike Mod for BF2142, thats awesome fun to play when there are actually people on the servers.
