January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

how'd you get that figure? nothing i've seen says that spurs paid much over 15million, i don't know how much liverpool paid up front for him but i imagine it was a fairly hefty sum as you missed out on barry because of it.

The echo (:p) says Spurs are paying £16m. So around a £3m loss which isn't too bad considering how bad he's been. We got £1m from Pompey for Pennant for half the season so Keane's got to be worth at least double that.

20.6m I think was the agreed figure, and I've heard nothing about us writing off anything that was owed to us.

Best bit of news for me today though is that Giovani's move to Pompey has broke down. Delighted as I really rate him.

Levy confirmed that it was £19m + £1.3m based on appearances etc. There's no chance that the criteria for any of the add on's would have been fulfilled so it's just £19m. We reportedly owe you £10.8m of that fee so i'd assume that you've given us around £5m.

Spurs will do anything to get their man, its fairly well known that the Yids are fairly clueless with money......Darren Bent anyone:p So it wouldnt surprise me if they have written off some of the monies owed.

We only missed on Barry because Villa wanted the cold hard cash upfront, and not staged payments which clubs like United and Pool favour.

Ahhh the echo :p famous for not putting the best possible spin on things for liverpool based sides.

it was 19mill up front btw skippi, i doubt you'd get the bonus clauses.

Not really. Villa kept changing their demands in terms of how the money is paid and who they were wanted in exchange (possibly intentionally to block the deal) but at the end of the day the only reason why it didn't go through was because our head scout, Coco the Clown, thought he wasn't worth it.

You, my friend, seem to be reversing a stereotype there. :p

Levy is top class in the way of handling finances. When it comes to the actual football though, he is indeed clueless.

By far the most accurate source for Liverpool transfers as proven with the stories about Glenn Johnson. All the national press were saying he'd all but signed for us, Tony Barrett said it was bs and guess what, he was right. Just like he is with 99% of his stuff. :p
where did you get that info from?

It was on Spurs' official site when we signed him.
