sorry guys, another dreamy thread!

It's what everyone says when they're 17. Automatically believe learning stops after you pass. Very wrong.

i am 17 though and i know i am still learning as passing a test aint anywhere near like real driving on a day to day basis. for instance you dont do your test in the snow like this morning.

i dont think yantorsen realises this though

Yea because parts for 30 year old Triumps are readily available even more so than Fiesta parts you know

You really have no sort of clue at all do you?

I was talking about mechanical things really, theres not as much to go wrong with an old car if you do knock it. A dent in the body work doesn't need to be replaced unless it's the sills or something.

it has a top speed of 90mph, 0-6o in about 13 secs, its not that quick. I'm probably more likely to bin a haatchback since there faster.

That's complete crap.

It's RWD and has no driving aids - its more likely to be binned, end of.

A car doing 30mph can have an accident that kills people, so your top speed of 90 or accleration point is false.

There are worlds and worlds of differences between the handling of a modern hatchback and an unpredictable 30 year old RWD Triumph.

It really isn't just about speed

You sure you haven't imagined yourself driving a Triumph :p.

Anyways my point still stands, first learn to drive in the matiz, get used to driving for a while, then decide what your needs of a car are...

well I will obviously, I'm just doing research. the thread title was reffering to what other members had said about my previous thread.

You learn to drive in the 1st year on your own, hell i'm still learning now.

I can buy a brand new wing for my Fiesta off the shelf for £40. You keep proving to us time and time this is a bad idea and you WILL NOT LISTEN.

You crash that spitfire at anything more than 30 and you will be SERIOUSLY injured. You roll it (which is easy to do) you will DIE. Get it into your head that a new driver in a creaky old classic is a good idea.

That's a point. Rolling a Triumph Spitfire WILL be fatal. It's a risky choice Yantorsen, just take heed of the advice instead of trying to rebel against it. It is solid advice from people with years of experience on the roads.

I don't have enough fingers to count people I know who have come close to or rolled cars in their early years.

its not false, look it up yourself. I don't care then anyway, I'm no more likely to bin a triumph than anything else, and that argument wouldn't deter me if it was true. I'm young and 17, I'm willing to take "risks"" like that.

you will be learning in a FWD euro crapbox.
you will pass your test and jump into a old RWD vehicle that will feel completely different.

Yes, big risk

Your showing your age and immatureness now.

And this is ME it's coming from...who've thought.

I'm not rebelling, I just find the whole, "yantorsens a retard lulz" thing pathetic. I'm not paying much attention because I didn't start this thread for driving tips or to be insulted.

Scary. Modern convertibles have roll bar support a 30 year old triumph doesn't, if you roll that Triumph there is a 99% chance of being killed. Rolling a car is not difficult clip the kerb in the wet after a little slide and you're over.

It came out at a time when people cared little about safety.

Yant within my first year of driving I had a very major accident.

I was driving a brand new Astra. I thought I was the nuts, I rolled it at 60mph - it rolled 2.5 times into a ditch and stayed on it's roof. Me and my friend walked away from it unscathed.

The Triumph does 60mph doesn't it? If we were in an old car (like the Triumph) we would've been dead, simple.
