sorry guys, another dreamy thread!

its not false, look it up yourself. I don't care then anyway, I'm no more likely to bin a triumph than anything else, and that argument wouldn't deter me if it was true. I'm young and 17, I'm willing to take "risks"" like that.

That comment alone shows you know absolutely nothing when it comes to car dynamics. Do you not realise how bad the rear axle is on the Spitfire? Yes it may only have 70bhp but the axle the power is coming through is useless. They are horrid for snap oversteer going round corners. I know what the Dolomite handling could be like at times and the suspension setup on that is vastly superior compared to a Spitfire.

I hope Mattius doesn't mind me posting this pic. He had an accident in his Spitfire a while ago, this one had side impact bars. The accident happened at 30mph.

So please tell me how exactly you are "learning" at the moment in the Mondeo.

Does daddy show you how the gears work :p

add that to the list of insults ;)

No, I'm just learning the "basics" at the moment, car controll, three point turns etc, on a disused air field near my dads work.

I'm talking about my opinion though, i think it's a crap car. the new ones aren't so bad, but there out of my budget. The old ones look terrible, feel terrible, sound terrible, and I couldnt care less if they went like a bullet for all the other reasons.

Which has been verified on here to hold no sort of weight

BECAUSE YOU HAVE NEVER DRIVEN ONE FOR AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME OR AT ALL

You only start to learn once you go out for an extended time with an instructor and not before. I won't lie. I did the same with my dad before I got my license but it taught me

NOTHING

EDIT : Saitrix has arrived thank lord for that.

BUT YOU CAN JUDGE A CAR ON MORE THINGS THAN HOW IT DRIVES. AS AN ART STUDENT HOW IT LOOKS IS MOREE IMPORTANT THAN HOW IT GOES TO ME

Its a car mate, its supposed to drive nice. If i want art i'll buy art. If i want to get to work in one piece i'll buy a car that i like driving.

Wtf?

BTW if you're going to lsiten to anyone listen to Saitrix. He knows these cars inside out.

He's going to ignore that last pic because he wont change his mind. To be honest that pic should put someone with little experience right off a spitfire.

looks pretty nasty, but it hasn't put me off at all. Obviously I don't understand car dynamics as well as someone like you since I haven't driven much before and I don't know all the terminology I'm only 17 for christs sake.

I know, I've been talking to him on MSN a few nights ago.

You won't understand how judge cars so don't bother trying, that's all I can say.

You're right I don't understand how you judge cars.

Because you base your comments on fancy pictures and second opinions without holding any real world first hand experience of your own.

seriously yantorsen, you have no idea, so come here asking questions, then tell us we are all wrong.

How can you say any car is crap when you've never driven it? Oh and what kind of uni student wants a old rust bucket? (no insult intended to the "proper" guys that do these cars up and treat them well)
