The official SONY one is supposed to be really good. I'm considering one myself

But pretty much impossible to obtain sadly.

If people can handle wires they should most certainly look at the logitech vantage USB headset. Sound quality wise it actually outdoes the official headset imo, sadly i had to stick mine in a drawer as a rearrangement of the front room has made it a pain in the buttocks to have the cable across it.

Ah yeah, good spot, i got one from them a fortnight ago. Strange that they seem to be getting a constant stream of stock when no one else is. Also strange that they don't instantly sell due to being a relatively big games retailer.

The Official Sony headset uses it's own device driver. This enables it to display a little icon on screen that shows when you Mute or use HQ mode etc. This driver is loaded if you plug the headset into the PS3 to pair it.

You can pair it as a standard headset using the bluetooth pairing mode but then it will behave as a normal bluetooth (profile) headset i.e. no fancy icons and HQ mode device driver (which enables fancy stuff in supported games like SOCOM).

Just felt like saying that as many people seem to be buying the headset.

Yeah just been looking around and the only place I could find it was all the way across the pond in Canada
