Hardly an uberbargain, but i love it.

Trouble is, altho most of the cars in this thread are "OMG huge engine luxobarge for pennies" cheap, I cant help thinking they would be followed up with a "OMG my X has gone wrong, and so has my Y and Z, and its going to cost me eleventy million pounds to fix!".

Im not saying they will all be sheds, Im just saying that if they do break, they are well and trully in the "its broke, bin it and buy a new one" catagory... But then even if it went every 12 months, its still less than a grand a year for a huge luxobarge...

How much do I have in my savings account..... :)

Further research shows that there are none at anywhere near this price. If there was a 750 for £900 then i can only assume it must have been a very late E32 5.0...

I think you assume right it had a notice in the window saying 5L

The Xedos 6 was okay car back in the day (1993) and some people even described it as the mini jag which Jaguar should have released. Obviously it wasn't as good as 6cyl E36 and handled a like a barge compared to the Beemer, but any E36 you buy now for £1k will almost certainly be falling to bits, whereas the £1k Mazda will have nothing wrong with it and no big bills on the horizon. That V6 runs to 250k with the only thing needing replacing being the rocker cover gasket. As brand new cars I'd take a 320 E36 over a Mazda Xedos 6 any day of the week, but at this price point, the Mazda is the easy choice.

Not really, no. For the time, very handsome cars, great cruising ability and being a V6 was more refined than its 4 cylinder competition.

fair enough. i remember reading up on these when i was looking for a car and remebered reading that the chassis was below par and the engine was complex..
i don't think i could live with the shocking interior though

and i really need a hatchback anyway :p

The MAZDA XEDOS wins for me. A good looking car and so cheap!

After i'm done with my celica GT i'll be looking for a barge and it may well be one of these. (if i could find one in as good condition that is).

Is it me or have you had your name changed recently?

I'm sure there were less numbers the last time I looked.

I have nothing new to add to this thread. I'd just end up posting the same car as someone else now. I did find a nice BMW 532i SE for about £900, but most other stuff in here is better.
