I also have every ps1 FF original in mint condition

was at a highstreet game store today and saw all the final fantasy series for the ps1 for £75! is that how much they all worth?

Depends. Most peeps would assume that's just 7, 8 & 9. So depending on version / condition, about right.

If it included all the re-released earlier ones, and they were all picture disc, I'd say it's a bargain!

I've got a ps1 copy and two copies on the pc.
Pc versions on an auction site going for thirty notes, so I've given one up to the Gods to get a years xbox subs :D

I'll have to dig out my collection at some point and take new photos. They're all boxed up safely while we renovate the house. At last count I had 50 odd different Final Fantasies, all boxed with instructions. The last purchase that wasn't a new release was NTSC/U FFVII which cost about £60 IIRC.

I've never played any of the Final Fantasy series.......

......did I miss out on something?

Never had a PS1 or PS2 and..... for some reason, they never appealed to me. Kind of regret it now. Oh well

I'm scared of being disappointed. Ignorance is bliss

You're British aren't you? Everything is a disappointment.

But honestly, if you only try one of them, beg/borrow/steal a copy of FFVII. Look past the 12 year old visuals, and play what can honestly be described as one of the (if not the) most evocative, complete and fulfilling RPGs on any system to date.

Fair point.

So, I've heard ;)

Problem is finding the time !

I'm currently playing FF7 (once again) on my PsOne with little screen, and I can honestly say I'm still so impressed with the visuals.

Sure, the moving sprites are a bit pants, and in high resolutions it'll look carp. But I forgot how phenomenal the detailing to the areas are. The slums look incredible, the use of lights (neon, reactor glow etc) is great, and there is just so much to see. It adds so much atmosphere.

I'm not sure any game since has gotten the same amount of detail and effort in to locations. Truly stunning for a game which is 12 years old

Proof that artistic direction and attention to detail are far more important that technological prowess. Sure Chris Redfield now has more polygons on his ear than the entire character models in FFVII, but it still looks great imo.

Good news everyone! I've now got a full copy of FFVII in mint condition!

I'm gonna start on it tonight - not played it since the first time I completed it.
