Will these components be able to run Crysis dx10 with everything on very high with lots of AA at 40fps+? That's really my main objective with an upcoming pc. Of course there will be some OC'ing (nothing too extreme though with case cooling).

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2048MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail (102-B50902-00-AT)

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail

Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

G.Skill 6GB DDR3 NQ PC3-12800C9 1600MHz (3x2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 (F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ)

Antec 900-2 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case - Black (No PSU)

Also, I'd just like to check --- the mobo fits in the case, right?
Thanks in advance :)

Im gonna say probably, and I think you know that, you just wanted to flaunt your new system :p

Try running the Crysis benchmark tests.

Well this is Maxishine's latest video, he's a gotta a similar/slightly better spec than yours. He benches Crysis Warhead with both a 4870X2 and a GTX295

Well, it isn't my new system -- but I'm hoping it will be soon :P
Resolution is 1920x1080 (1080p is win).

According to Maxishine's vid, the GTX295 is much much better, however there isn't actually much (if any) ingame difference, and the 4870x2 is so much cheaper.

Thanks for the help everyone :)

So you're going to order those parts?

I expect a build log when they arrive. ;):D

Budget requires me to wait maybe a few months, so it may have actaully changed by then --- but I doubt it ^^

check my rig in my sig, i can run crysis with everything full with up to 8x AA. with 16x AA i get a frame rate drop that i can still play with but you can notice the loss in frames now and again..

and i only have Vista 32bit, so all my memory isnt being used properly either.. im hoping that when i get Vista 64 and another GTX 280 on monday ill be able to get good frames with AA maxed at 16x..

i play on 1920x1200.

I just had a thought...

If I were to only buy a 4870x2 instead of going for a full blown new pc, would it still be crysis-worthy?

Pentium D 2.8ghz
2Gb DDR2 RAM
No Oc'ing

Although I doubt that beast of a card would fit in my soddy Dell case :(

Dont think the 4870x2 would be able to get upto full speed cause of the CPU you have, would improve performance but cant be sure by how much.

the cpu is not powerful enough.

Basically your graphics card will be sitting there.
"COME on processor! Huuuurrryyy upppp."

While the cpu is running out of breath trying to cope with all the data your card is pumping out.

Thats as best as i can put it. :)

I read somewhere ages ago that you need a quad at 3.2GHz to take advantage of the x2.
