Intel SSD pricecuts

Well they had to.. I expect the next drives to just slot into that price bracket.. Still need a good 120-160GB to store my stuff..

Oooh. At £275 I am tempted for a laptop upgrade. But I really should restist it as it is not quite big enough and a little over what I would want to pay for that performance.

I can't deny I am sorely tempted though.

Please wait people. In the next five years it won't change your life at all not to have them, meanwhile mechanical HDDs will become obsolete like floppy drives and SSDs will become £1 = 1GB in no time.

No truer words spoken... but it's shineey new gadget :D :p

robbie, depends on how much you use your PC and how much performance realy means to you. SSD's represent a big leap in performance that you wont and can't get by upgrading any other component. A friend of mine was touting SSD's as the future back 10+ years ago. Nice to see he was right after all this time, even if it did take manufacturers awhile to catch on :). Once the big guns get there drives out on the market we are going to see prices tumble. So come on Seagate etc.. Bring it on I say :)

If you buy then now though you'll be kicking your self in a year or so when the prices have dropped massive amounts

We don't know yet, need some proper reviews to come in. The Intel price cuts should place an 80gb Intel vs a 120gb Vertex.
