I honestly cant beleive how much some of you guys are paying for insurance, I mean 800 quid for an A8 at 33

It surprises me too, I thought that my premium was quite high, but it seems that it really isn't in comparison to most people's here. Lots of people seem to have longer on their licence and also NCB and have powerful cars and get larger premiums than me. :/

I guess my postcode must be awesome. :p

Just read through the whole thread and I'm thinking mine might well be the cheapest of all the quotes:

Car: Seat Arosa 1.0 S (2003)
Cost : £118.76 Fully Comp. £100.00 excess. 19 years driving experience - FNCB - with my wife on the policy as well - Swift Cover

Car: MK6 Fiesta 1.4L (2003)
Cost £126.00 Fully Comp - as above (except this is the wife's car) :)

CAR

SEAT Leon Cupra R '03 Plate.

Been Driving 17yrs

One claim in all those years :D

Renewal Premium

£288.67 F/C NCP with MORE TH>N

Had a scout round and that's the best I can get.

I wonder if location makes a massive difference. My premium shot up by £200 (almost 50%) when I moved from a nice safe Surrey suburb to a South East London postcode.

I have been getting some stick on here about the amount I am paying but I believe the fact that I live practically in Birmingham city centre makes a big difference to my premium.

Yeah it makes a huge difference, in contrast i can insure an A8 for around £600, that's with 6 points 23 yo with business use and 1NCB!

Something has to be done about this. The prices are ridiculous.

Is it the fact the insurance companies exploit the fact that car insurance is a "legal requirement" and thus charge what the hell they want, or is it honestly due to the rising cost of car insurance claims and legal fees.

I really wish all these Injurylawyers4u companies would sod off. They should be renamed to "if you're lying about whip lash and want to sue somebody for 30 grand, in the mean time raising the insurance premiums then come give us a call" instead. God I hate them passionately.

Car :

Mitsubishi FTO GPX (Grp 20)

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII import (pretty sure group 20 like Import STI)
Fully comp
