I ran 2 kms to a friends house earlyer tonight and i ran it it 8 minutes and 15 seconds.

Im not really up with good average and crap times over anything further then 200metres(I used to sprint and pay no attension to long distance)

So would you say its a good time or not?

Thanks:)

Its a decent time. Not superb but not by any means bad :)

its basically about 1 and a quarter miles.. so make of that what you will :)

Its not a bad time. But tbh id class 2km as a middle distance run. Running as fast as you can for 2km is not the same as running as fast as you can for 10K. That pace for 10K is above average.

It takes 5 minutes to run 1km at 12km per hour. And I find 12km an hour on a tredmil to be a steady jog. Its above average in my eyes. Running 1km in 4 minutes I find reasonably hard, but im not a born runner :p Why i tend to stay in the weights pit :)

It's all relative, but.. I'd say that was a pretty respectable pace. If anybody says otherwise I'd challenge them to step away from the keyboard and have a race :p

Sounds about average for somebody fairly athletic. As others have said, if you can keep that up over a longer distance you're quick!

I can probably hold the pace longer.

Its not the quickest i can run i feel, its more of just my steady running pace so i dont die :p

On average how fast is is KPH wise>?

It's 14.5 km/h. So a little slower than my half marathon pace if we're waving willys :D

In the summer when I was doing a bit of running I was doing 2.4Km (1.5 miles) in 8.45.

That's running 2.4Km out at a steady pace then personal best back home. My goal was to do it in under 9 minutes (required time for entry into the Paras) once I'd achieved it I lost interest quite quickly so I'd probably be lucky to do it sub 10mins now.

You'd be surprised how quickly you lose your best time if your not doing it weekly. I used to be able to do it in 8:00 now after a few weeks I'm up to 11

The had a 5 minute rest and ran 2kms back and ran a 7:50:D

Really pushed it at the end of the second run:cool:
