Hmm, can you listen to the Herves mix anywhere? Like say in Annie Mac's radio show?
The Prodigy have never really been about the lyrics now have they
Huh? Of course they've been about the lyrics.
Imagine Firestarter without the lyrics. Poison without the lyrics. Warriors Dance without that brilliant old skool sample. No Good, Smack My Bitch Up, Everybody In The Place etc etc without the lyrics.
Lyrics are an incredibly important part to a Prodigy track, whether it's a sample or original. I dunno how you could even think that.
Im not saying the lyrics arent important, far from it, but The Prodigy arent renown for their lyrics are they, its all about the beats
They aren't reknown for the lyrics to Firestarter, Charley or Smack My Bitch Up?
Two of those tracks were absolutely pivotal to The Prodigy's success. The third one ensured the media had plenty to talk about and re-affirmed The Prodigy as the top headline act in festivals all over the world.
I'm not attributing their success solely to the lyrics, but you cannot possibly believe The Prodigy's success was down the "the beats".
Of course not solely down to the beats, like i said, the vocals are important... The vocal samples they use and the lyrics they get someone else to come up with and sing are much better than the lyrics that the band (Maxim and Keith) come up with, which is why i said The Prodigy arent really about the lyrics when you said the Piranha lyrics were corny, (and probably would have made it more clearer in the original post if i wasnt feeling like iv been at deaths door for the last week lol) if you listen to the vocals the band actually do they are pretty bad most of the time...
Having now listened to the full album it's as good as I hoped, probably better. If I had any doubt about buying it, I don't now. Awesome stuff and up there with their best, FoTL and MFTJG.
