I honestly cant beleive how much some of you guys are paying for insurance, I mean 800 quid for an A8 at 33

Its ridiculous considering I was quoted £330 FC for a 2002 RS6 I was looking at from Elephant (12 month policy) about 6 months ago which was nigh on £100 cheaper than my Nissan and am 4 years older than the A8 owner.

IIRC, all imported cars are group 20, and I think the FTO GPX was import only...

I have to say that I can't find confirmation of that (probably haven't tried hard enough tbh) and from what I have read the FTO groups go from 12-to about 18. I can only see them putting the jap one on a group 20 for a bit of gouging due to 'availability of parts', despite Mitsi UK being able to supply parts without problem, unlike certain other jap manus over here. Unlucky for the FTO owner as that is a fair bit of money to be forking out for a fairly standard car with that many years ncd etc :(
