Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Based on this letter in this very thread it seems the online review embargo date is 16th February.

As a point of note doesn't anyone else find it a bit strange/underhanded that you can basically censure reviews until (at least in the US/Japan) the game is available for people to buy? If the game was a load of crap - which we know it isn't going to be in this instance - then review embargos like this presumably would result in people buying the game and potentially being very disappointed in it. Just seems strange to me.

The embargo is probably in place so that bigger review sites, such as IGN, can pay them to have the exlusive review. Probably more money than we realise if you think about the number of people that are waiting for this game and IGN have the first review.

Ah yeah, good point. Never thought of that. :)

goddamn, the shipping notice stated the SF pad but it still shows as as preorder on my account :( New watch came tho lol

Waitin on pad/game and a live sub then im up for some vs

Knew it would be - scary how tight the timing needs to be...

ps3ud0

I don't know how tight they have to be exactly. But you pretty much have to start doing the next move as soon as you finished pushing the last button. The one i cant seem to do at the moment is kens. ( In air ) Hard kick , Hard kick , upper cut ( Medium ) and then focus attack. Its a pretty odd combination :/

Just a quick thought back to the TE stick. I'm sure once these "limited" sticks are sold madcatz will release a vanilla style TE stick - everything the same bar the street fighter graphic/

Has anyone actually had a TE stick pre-order update yet? You'd think the places that offered these would have them in their warehouse now even if they weren't sending them out til next week.

I dont understand when people say this?

If they sell well??

They have Already sold out weeks ago just in the Pre-Orders alone...

surely they will make more.

Have you considered if they are indeed using arcade parts and possibly manufactured in other parts of the world the profit margin might be very low due to fluctuating currencies and it might not be viable for them to do large production runs? I am sure more will/are being made, just saying.

I managed to play this today over at a mates house who got this through his work.

I chose Sagat and played through on 'medium' difficulty, and I completed it and only lost 1 round. It's very easy to pick up and get into if you are into streetfighter. It's actually very very good. I had a good hour on it today and I can't wait for next week. The moves are all easy to pull off, even the ultra moves since you can configure a button to be LP+MP+HP so those of us without arcade sticks can pull off ultra moves without having to try and press 3 buttons.

SF fans will like this game. :D

Sagat is god-tier though, playing him is easy mode :p

True, half the characters need unlocking though so it was either Ken or Sagat for me. :p

There are little cut scenes and cartoons when selecting a character and also when completing the game, well for Sagat anyway. A lot better then the boring endings we are use to seeing. I had very high hopes for this game and so far I am not disappointed. A week does seem like forever though, I'm waiting for my PS3 version.

First few hours will be settings the controls and unlocking all the characters. There are so many buttons to configure. Its not jus LP/MP/HP/LK/MK/HK, there were quite a few others.
