Hiya, need a bit of hope booster from you guys (or not)

I'm expecting two packages (small ish but wont fit through letter box) which was posted on the thursday, Which means it will most definately come today.

However our letters have already arrived:?.

so my question is, is there a possibility that they post packages seperately around here ?, Im in Coventry city centre,

Thank you!

Postie wont carry them on his bike if they are too big... So wait till afternoon delivery and you will see the nice red van outside :p

still hope then ^^, hope it comes by 12 ish though, need to be in cardiff by 3 pm :/

lets be honest, its not going to happen is it.

And thanks neodite ^^

Well i normaly get mine about 2ish :( might be differant in coventry tho, if i was you id give them a ring, and if it aint been dispatched, pick it up on your way ;)

(No thread hijack :)) What happens if they try to deliver and just leave it outside when it should be signed for? It could get stolen, this happened recently with my gf, luckily she came home in time otherwise someone could have taken the parcel. It was from the jungle site and I am guessing it needed a signature.

If it wasn't special delivery then it won't, "most definitely come today", if your lucky it will come today, saturday is not a guaranteed day for delivery, more so for only 1st class.

Nothing is ever a guaranted day for delivery from Royal Fail; I only ever get a postman 3 times a week (4 at best) (and I don't even live in the middle of anywhere but live within Oxford actually).

Don’t post drivel, Royal Mail offer a guaranteed service, yes it’s not 100% but you name a business that provides an 100% reliable service? None, Royal Mail has very tight rules and regulations to deliver mail; the only day Royal Mail close is Sunday so you get 6 delivers per week.

Then explain to me why I only get mail 3 or 4 times out of the 6 days of the week? As in the postman will generally just not be doing his rounds on Tuesday and Thursday (or sometimes Wednesday and Friday), and it has been like this for close to 6-8 months now.

Well I myself don’t get mail everyday; just means there is no mail for you on that day, not really hard to understand can bet you the postman/woman will be out delivering to other addresses, not every home gets mail every day, There is some serious guidelines Royal Mail have to stick to with regard to delivering mail, a postal worker can and will get sacked for wilful delay. People have some very skewed thoughts on Royal Mail and its service, it’s not a case of keeping mail in the sorting office, it all has to go out on the same day it gets sent to the offices. :)

we send 50 first class packages a day and 90% of our customers recieve them next day with the 10% within 2days. I find the royalmail a great service.

You're guessing wrong then, it depends what you've bought and how you had it sent. Most items from there don't require signatures.

That would definitely be illegal as they are obliged to deliver to every address monday-saturday. (except for some very isolated areas)

could it be that you sometimes dont have any mail to actually be delivered? :)

Or if your saying that the postman doesnt deliver anywhere on your road on tuesday and thursday (not sure how you'd know this unless you wait and watch for him lol) then that could simply be down to the postman not doing his job properly or the local sorting office is short staffed?

Only special delivery requires a signature by default.

No Amazon has tracked packages, which can require a signature. Special and Recorded delivery requires a signature, also packages from other countries like China, USA can require a signature, Air mail.

The only service which is tracked and guaranteed is Special delivery 9am.

I am on the coventry postage system out here, and all I can say is random, sometimes they are hear extremely quick, other times there is such a wait, All i can say tho is I have never had any losses/damages from them
