Hi all

Finished the last stages of the bathroom last night involving the fitting of the towel heater, shower mixer, and accessories. The old suite was a horrid green colour and the carpet on the floor became too much to bear after a few years of "spillage" :p.

Here are the pics:

Came in well under budget due to January sales and "special rates" for the plastering and tiling, and we're very happy with the results. Previously had 8.5 KW electric shower, which was appalling, but this 3 bar pumped system is lovely to shower with and everything feels much fresher and cleaner.

For anyone that's interested in having a pop themselves, by far the hardest part is routing the pipe work under the floor and up the walls so that they can't be seen and are positioned correctly for the tiling. After that it's time consuming, and if you've never done anything similar yourself, allow a lot of time for trial and error.

God i suddenly thought my father had started using ocuk,

me and him started his bathroom motnhs ago, i was helping fo most of the work but left the last bit up to him, which was celling panels (HDM Cladding) it has taken him nearly 2 months to get his finger out and finish it.

Nice bathroom mate plenty hard work in there i can see,

Yay! A tiled floor - I can never understand the obsession we seem to have with putting carpet in bathrooms in this country.

Totaly agree there, when i moved in with my partner that was the first thing i did was rip up the carpet. i think its unhygenic and disgusting

'had' surely? Don't think I know anyone with a carpet in their bathroom these days, although my missus' parents have one in their downstairs cloakroom, probably 20 years old though.

was putting laminate flooring down in january in my bathroom and accidently smashed the toilet pan , the bathroom has concrete floor and the old pan was cemented too the concrete so when i tried to put the old pan back on after laying the flooring it wasnt level with the floor due too the layer of cement , i tried too knock this layer of cement out with a hammer as i thought it was a thin sheet at the base of toilet, got a new one sorted for £80 :)

bath n sink next on the hitlist :)

thats a crackin job matey , how long did it take all in ???

Are the sink and toilet new? Or did you have them coated somehow?

edit: NM. Can see the difference between the old and new now.

Looks real nice now. Clean and fresh. Nice job! :)

Good little transformation. Now you just need to spoil it for the wife by having a good smelly poo in there :)
