so went to local supermarket with wife and son to do some shopping.

Putting the shopping in the car, a guy was doing the same who was parked next door to me. I walked back to the trolley cage thing and put the trolley up against it, well out of everyones way.

walked back to car and the guy who parked next door who was walking to the trolley cage mumbled something, i looked around and said "you what mate?"

he said "a few more inches, a few more inches" - as if to say i should have pushed the trolley a few more inches, i looked at him - weirdo i thought and turned around and went on my jolly way home.

coming up to a small roundabout i was in the left lane and i wanted to go onto the right lane to turn right, he over took me on the right to get into the left lane as he was left, so i turned right and 10secs later he was behind me , strange i thought, but he probably wanted to go this way, so ignored it,

anyway as i was driving home, he was making the same turns as i was, so i was getting a bit suspicious, the wife was going mad in the car saying hes following us and getting scared.

so instead of going home i took a detour to make sure he was following me, did some left and right turns and he did the same.

So heading into the next town which was about 6 miles from the supermarket i called my mate who has a takeaway, told him quickly that i was going to pull outside his shop and to wait and see what this guy does.

so i pull out side and sure enough this guy just drove past, then i saw he did U-turn ahead to come back, so as he did that i carried on straight to go past him and thought that be it.

so carried on home going the long way around, taking mad left and right turns and sure enough he was behind me again! WTF

so i put the foot to the metal and lost him in the end in an estate i know very well.

we were in a Zafira and is quite high up, he was in a P reg fiesta and i couldn't get his full plate as it was about 8.45pm

got home and was just in shock after thinking what just happened, he must have been a bit disturbed, especially as he knew there was a kid and wife in the car.

now im not into violence and especially my wife and kid being in the car i didn't want a direct confrontation with him. If i was alone then i would have just pulled over and asked him what he was doing.

Should i go to the police station and report it and ask them to pull CCTV video from the supermarket car park (if they have it), or do i just let it go?

some people are just sick :(

Not much you can do now, you have no full licence plate, he technically didn't break any laws (you did with the left lane, right turn on the roundabout :p), i would've pulled into a police station and see what he does.

A friend of mine had a similar thing happen to her. She was being followed a random person and no matter what she did they kept following. She finally lost them and pulled into the local police station as she was scared and reported it. 5 minutes later a bloke walked into the station saying "If someone comes in thinking I'm following them I wasn't."

The daft bugger didn't realise that she never got his plate so the police wouldn't have known who he was. As it was, they cautioned him there and then.

hehe, nah i indicated right into the right lane as he came in front of me in the left lane.

that is good to know, i was trying to get his number but it was too dark and we were high up in the car.

That is quite hilarious haha.

Though I hope she hasn't been followed by him since.

Go to the police station. Tlle them what happened and give them a full description as best you can. They probably won't do anything but if anything happens again they have it on record.

Go home, put it down to some geezer having a bad day and forget about it.

This happened to my old boss, he did what you did and made sure the person was following, then pulled his car to an ubrupt stop and confronted the bloke.

What you experienced isnt a rare thing, people are weird. Dont get too worried about it.

Man that is weird, I wouldn't know what to do if I was in that situation. Just ignore them I guess... But, I would be scared to stop and get out the car if they were still behind me... God knows what the nutter would do.

Not surprised you and the wife were a bit shaken! Was either someone a little bit jellied in the head, i'd say in this case there's not a lot you can do about it, try to get a good nights sleep and put it out of your head. At the first sign of anything similar happening again, call the police.

In future, dont start things with people who mutter under their breath. Especially when you have kids in the car.

Next time it happens drive to the police station.
