Do you enjoy driving?

Dont get me wrong i like the freedom that driving offers, i just dont like the actual driving and dont understand why people do like it.
What's your car though? I've got a couple of classics and it's fun going out for a blast, even if it is in traffic.

No, I stopped enjoying it after the first 250,000 miles, then started hating it with a passion after the the next 250,000.

Yes,

I quite like it as it gives me time to think, reflect on various issues and chill out. I drive on my own a lot of the time so it's nice to have a bit of personal space. On the occasions I have mates in the car it can be a laugh just generally having chats and so forth.

I love driving, snake's pass is an amazing road if anyone's ever been on it.

I'll always take the long way home, slam some tunes on, and get the right foot down. Like most of my wages get spent on fuel :p

No, because there isn't a single person in this town that can drive properly. Everyone in this town is at least 325 years old and drives at 3mph, letting everyone cross the road, braking unneccessarily for hills and has a habit of not indicating at roundabouts.

At the minute i have an Astra diesel, its just a cheap to run car that fits me, mrs zoot and the kids in easily.

In the past i have owned some nice "drivers" cars such as a subaru Impreza, BMW 525i (E28) Golf GTi.

I have been driving now for 13 years, and would say that i havent really enjoyed the last 9 -10 of those.

yes and no.

yes, when I'm alone, the streets are empty and I'm driving a car I like.

No, when I'm in traffic and my girlfriend is whining when I take a corner too quickly.

I love to drive. I drive like the wind. One of my goals is to attend some courses at Bondurant.

Take a motorcycle safety course. They're dirt cheap and will teach you more about defensive driving than any normal course.

I wonder if there is a corrolation between people who hate driving and people who drive stuff like diesel Vauxhalls? Perhaps you hate driving because the car doesn't interest you.

Possibly, but I think a lot of people jsut don't enjoy driving. It's a tool to them not a pleasure. I could still ahve fun in a diesel astra as long as the road is twisty enough.

Whether i enjoy that particular driving session depends on what type of roads i'm on. Crammed suburban main roads and busy motorways are boring and can be stressful depending on my mood, clear motorways and windy countryside roads can be a good laugh.

If it comes down to whether i'm the driver or the passenger i'd rather be the driver any day.

On the front of the car you drive being a factor, i drive a crappy old corsa but i still grin when i get to a fun stretch of road. It's not as if you can stick the back end out or anything :p
