Just had my Courtesy Car delivered!

So yea, for those who don't know, a guy hit my car (whilst it was parked) and did a runner. I track him down and with the help of a witness have processed the insurance claim (which I'm just waiting confirmation of it being in my favour, which it should be obviously).

I get a call from Drive Assist telling me they have me a Courtesy Car lined up: Great. I was expecting a little 1.2 litre polo or something equally as uninspiring. But to my surprise they turned up with a 58 plate Mercedes C-180 Kompressor... Not a bad swap for my Fabia vRS! It's a beautiful car.

I might give it a proper review at some point, it seems rather gutless however, but is still such a comforting drive.
 
Not a bad courtesy car :) I wasn't quite so lucky with courtesy cars when my Fabia vRS (RIP) went in to be assessed. I ended up with:
1. Toyota Aygo - Had to rag it get anywhere and didn't seem to do very well on MPG either. I'd much rather of had a Ford Ka but sadly not.

2. Ford Focus 1.6 Sport (New Shape) - Wasn't too bad, certainly a million times better than the Aygo but not quite comparable to the vRS :(

Sadly my vRS was wrote off so I've now got a 54 Ford Focus 1.6 Edge which is OK but just doesn't compare. I'll hopefully upgrade in the not so distant future but took ages to find a decent vRS which had been well looked after. C'est le vie. Hope you have better luck with yours :)

Funny how people **** off prestige marque cars then say they are beautiful when even a boggo low end model appears! (Meaning people in general, not necessarily yourself) :)
 
I loved it when my Astra had to go back into the shop for some repairs. I turned up and they said "right, what do you want as your courtesy car?"

Choices were

Crappy Focus
Honda Accord Type-R (older version)
Subaru Impreza with loads of ugly decals on it

I went for the Type-R :D Was awesome for a week! Although in the time I made x10 as many stops at the petrol station than I usually would :p So cost me quite abit...Gotta say I drove it pretty hard. Not my car, not my problem :p

Still, enjoyable stuff...

I feel your pain....I drive a Micra as my every-day car. I enjoy being away at uni so that I don't have to look at it!

it is, I guess, it's jsut really not what I'm used to. It's beautiful on the inside and I can see the appeal, but it's just not a 'drivers' car you know? I just don't feel in touch with the actual steering, I guess i want to feel a little bit more involved with the whole driving process.

And yes, it is most definately not a like for like replacement, it has defiantely gone very mad. But meh, I'm not to complain! :)
 
Drive assist sorted me out with the new shape 2l Focus. It had about 1000mile on the clock, got to keep it for a few week too, did about 2000miles myself in it :p

Was certainly decent considering I was 19 at the time and it was a replacement for my Toyota Starlet 1.3 :cool:

Do not moan, I got a bright yellow Suzuki Ignis 1.3 when my 3 went in for some work at the dealer I bought it from.

It was all they had on short notice, I wrote it down to BS but just accepted it was better than nothing so got on with it.

Worst weeks worth of driving of my life
 
I've got a 1.6 Peugeot 308 currently, it's pretty good in a very slow, soft/squidgy suspension, massively ugly kind of way.
 
Nice motor for a courtesy car! My car went in the other day and they lent me a 2.5L V6....


Rover 75 Automatic

I was so embarresed to drive it! Altho when i put sport mode on it didnt half sound nice as its a BMW lump in the front!
