NEW JOB !!!! :D

^ Exactly. I'm very pleased for the chap and hope he goes far but just interested;

Why did an 18 year old get head hunted specifically by a global company?
Why they think an 18 year old is capable of managing people
How they think he knows skills for issues outside IT (HRM, management responsibility, leadership styles etc)
If he reports to another manager, that means a team reports to this guy?

It's not like at 18 he can have much real "world experience" either. But hey, 18, and head of IS for a billion dollar multinational, perfectly plausible.

I would hope a team or 2 reports to him if hes involved with what he says for a global company :p

Bet he works for the purple shirt brigade in some business support section :p

Congrats. I think you are still yet to experience the real rigors of proper work though :p Data centers may seem cool and all when your 18 but after a while the air conditioning starts to get annoying, so much so that you will wear a coat in the summer, along with the constant hum of airflow.

He probably put his CV on Monster. That site always gives the impression of being head hunted because you get about 10 phone calls per day from agencies all over the place.

I work for Ulysses Systems its a software company dealing with marinetine vessel software, and yes i have a small team who report to me. Its a lifetime oppurtunity which as most of you said was theluckiest thing ever but it happened :D and i am the happiest guy in the world.

Much Love

Hate to be a skeptic, but I seriously doubt the details of this 'job' are accurate. As other people have said - an 18 year old single handedly managing a multi-billion dollar companies IT department, well, it sounds like BS doesn't it?

It's still odd how someone with no knowledge of real world management went through what will have probably been a rigorous interview process and got the job as IS Manager for a MNC.

Whats the hours and pay?

multi billion global company that is privately funded? should get them listed, shares would be worth a bit and the owners would make some serious money..

Ignore the negative posters they are just jealous, keyboard warriors.

Good news indeed, well done and good luck in your future career. :)
