Athlon x2 7750 Compatability issues - HELP!

Hi all.
I've just bought a Athlon x2 7750 Black Edition from Overclockers, and after putting it on my Abit kn9s AM2 mobo, it soon became apparent that it wasn't compatable. (didn't notice it was an AM2+ when i bought it)
Basically, fans powered up, as did dvd drives, but that was it. No beeps or video signal going to monitor.

I have today been given an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo with Nvidia nForce 570 SLI chipset by a friend which is AM2 aswell, although ASUS claim it's AM2+ compatable.
However, on fitting the 7750 cpu, the same happens as with the Abit board.

I've looked around the web, with little joy, as some say the ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe works with my cpu, while others say not.

If anybody can confirm one way or the other, i would be over the moon, as need to find out if the start up problem is down to issues with the mobo, or if i have a duff cpu...in which case i need to send it back asap.

Like i said, any help would be hugely appreciated as don't really have much hair to pull out,

Thanks

Gav

Many thanks guys.
Latest bios i could find was the 1604 beta version.

Right, as the system wont boot, is the following what i need to do?
(still pretty new to the technical side of pc's)

Remove 7750 cpu and replace with my old Athlon64 x2 4600 one.
Install mobo drivers.
Update BIOS
Replace 7750 cpu

That's what i'm guessing although i thought i'd better ask now before i cocked it up

:D

I remember doing the same for my M2N32 and it was relatively painless - I used the Asus Update software.

Hope you get it sorted.
