The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die

I like it so far after a quick listen.

However I wish Keith would go back to being primarily a dancer, or at least they would release alternate versions of the tracks without his vocals - they always so samey. It's no coincidence that Warriors Dance is my favourite track so far, it really captures for me what was always good about the Prodigy before Firestarter etc. :)

long gone are the days of Liam banging out pretty much everything in his tunes with a old Casio FZ1 sampler (with just a couple of Mb mem tops). Gonna have to check this out, but can it ever live up to the classic that was 'Jilted'

Got mine through the post today, just listening to it now. Have to say i'm loving it, its not quite jilted or Experience but its not far off, some of the tunes remind me of the old albums while being slightly different. Great boxset as well, if my feelings change once i've listened to it i'll amend but so far its been well worth the wait i think.

After a fair few listens today i would say that this is easily the bands 2nd best album (jilted number 1) it stomps all over Experience, FOTL and AONO :D:D:D my Boxset was sent out today, could be here tomorrow along with the 2x12" version :D :D

Just listened to Take me to the Hospital (only ever seen a youtube vid with poor quality of them doing it live) and it's absolutely epic. :) :) :)
Prodigy have always been a big part of my life. They are probably the only band I have stayed true to and felt passionate about their music since day one. This album just compliments the previous 3 main albums beautifully. Theres just not one bad track. Totally awesome tunage. I can't believe I have never seen them live yet.

For me the highlights of the album are:

Omen (noisa remix also great)
Take me to the hospital
Thunder
Warriors Dance
Black Smoke

I want to get tickets to Wembley but all the ebay ticket exploiters snapped up the tickets to make money as usual and to get a stand up ticket at Wembley now is about 5 times the normal face value of the ticket.

:D:D Todays the day!

Picked up the normal CD version in HMV this morning, and my boxset came an hour ago :D:D:D:D tis a very very nice boxset i think, love the Lost Beats EP, shame theres no Dead Ken on there though

Just picked up my copy. The album version of Invaders Must Die is much better than the shorter single version (more balanced), but I still wasn't won over. Omen sounds better. I'll give my review later :D

Right, I have had a single listen through now and have my first impressions.

It is clear that the meat of the album is from TMTTH. From here there are some real throwbacks to 'Experience', thankfully, on both Warrior's Dance and Pirahna.

The title track is perhaps a grower, once I have gotten over that ascending Pendulum-esque noise. Each track has something instantly recognisable about it, which is only a good thing. The last track 'Stand Up' belongs on a Primal Scream album really, but is welcome.

IMD is miles better than AONO. On a few repeats I imagine it will at least equal FOTL. Only time will tell if it makes up to MFTJG, or the holy grail status of Experience.

EDIT - I have decided that the first few tracks are much better on a repeat listen.

This is a good album.

Listened through twice now. Standout tracks are Take Me To The Hospital (obviously), Thunder and Omen. But the entire album's very good.

edit: has anyone else noticed Run With The Wolves has a really weird overly-compressed/low bitrate sound to it? I'm listening in FLAC so it's definitely not an encoding issue, it just seems like pretty odd editing. It's particularly noticeable for the first 30 seconds or so.
