Well, from watching UC I thought she was rather conceited, but it appears that her manner on the show may be exacerbated by nerves rather than her personality. I think I would still find her irritating, but the BBC interview shows her in a much better light.

I watched the interview on BBC this morning and I think they were avoiding the main point - Britain's reaction to Miss Trimble (although perhaps misguided) was not because we "don't like clever women" but rather that we don't like smug, self-involved people, lacking in self-awareness.
