Wanted something fun to play with this summer, and picked this up from a friend - a good project for a month or two to get upto scratch!

My new plaything!

ot drucey, but do you pay tax on yr salary over there?
I noticed some chef jobs that paid £302 pw

Is that an Evinrude 70?, If so they are a good solid engine. I have owned one in both liveries, Johnson and Evinrude.
I have got the Clymer manual here, that I used to work on those engines i mentioned and an Evinrude 150 crossflow.
I recommend the manual if you have'nt already got it.

"CLYMER EVINRUDE/JOHNSON OUTBOARD SHOP MANUAL 48-235HP 1973-1990(includes Sea Drives)"

oh class enjoy it man
my dad always had boats when i was young, great fun day out if you can afford the petrol, looks small though 15-16'? so shouldn't be too bad, what engine is on it there?

EDIT: make sure you get a good spray done, the hundreds of boats (literally) i've seen with poor paint jobs is shocking, always see the paint run

Petrol is £1.52 a litre here as well.. and dirty, dirty 2 stroke 70hp engines drink A LOT.
But, it's fun! and it's the equivalent of my car here.

That's right, 15' i believe

thanks Aero :)

oh dear lol.

the paint job doesn't look too bad in that photo, i'd suggest you give it a good t-cut and polish first and see how it comes out, i've seen me and my dad t-cut a boat that was green (from weeds growing over it) to pure white, very good stuff like.

yeah, i think it would come up quite good, although flaking a bit at the front (you can see in the pic) so thought i'd just spray it all. Or try to...

that's the beauty and downfall of living here - no professional places to do it, but plenty of experienced neighbours who'll help for free if i mess it up!
