Defraggler Been Running All Night?

And still going?

I was running the trial of Diskeeper which took maximum 1 hour to defrag my 4 week old system.

I started Defraggler last night at 10:00 and its only 85% complete this morning.

Is this normal?
 
Its got to MS Flight Sim and because it has 1000;s of scenery files I think this is what is taking the time. Make sense?
 
Is that you not knowing? Or that it makes sense to take this long due to the space used?

What is confusing is that Diskeeper took an hour with the same amount of data on the HDD
 
Nah, he was meaning how much is it full as a percentage. There needs to be a certain amount of free disk space for it to work with.
 
I had the same problem yesterday, it started off great whizzing along nicely until it got to about 30% then the part where it shows you what files its dealing with crawls along about 1 file every second or so, I gave up after it had progressed 3% in 5 hours or so.

I ended up sacking it and using Aus Logic Disk Defrag, which did it in about 10mins, whether its done as good a job remains to be seen.

For the record, this on Vista 32bit and on a 500gb drive (capacity shown as 916gb as I think its in some raid configuration that I dont really understand or something :>)

I shut everything. The only thing running is NOD32 and the Razer Mouse drivers.

I do have indexing turned on (never turned it off) would that effect it?
 
It does not seem to stop, like the poster a few up, it got to 50% quickly, then slowed right down and is doing one file at a time very slowly.

It was at 50% last night by 22:30 (that was 30 mins in) then as of now it 85%
 
Yeah I will try that. I have stopped it for now as it was getting on my man boobs.

Will try again later with NOD32 disabled.

I read the Defraggler forums and this is a known problem it would seem, with nobody really knowing why.

Edit - In fact I got them both and am actually using the first one. Seems like a no hassle Defragger.
