Man batters 21 Shetland seal cubs to death... for fun

No, not really.

Killing animals for food and going rambo on a remote island killing baby seals are two slightly different things.

several hundred thousand of those chickens will be wasted. and thousands will have died much worse deaths than these seals.

That's the real problem right there. Should change the name of chickens to... egg laying kittens, I'm not sure ill need to consult PETA for a suitably cute name.

PETA call fish sea kittens :D

And fire bomb people, but people don;t matter ;)

one death is a tragedy a million is a statistic.

that only applies to humans, for animals its all statistics, thats if you decide to waste time actually bothering to make statistics about animals

but can we be certain that clubbing seal cubs to death is not fun? Its like saying steak isn't nice if you have never had one.

Ok.

Because of this fact, it's ok for people to go out and batter seals to death? If I went into a field near me, and battered and mangled 21 cheap to death, then went and tipped a few cows over, battered them to death, would it be ok?

If I did that, I'd obviously be someone who is mentally ****** in the head, like the guy who battered 21 shetland seal cubs to death for no reason really, those seals should still be alive, they where causing no harm.

Have you got any facts/figures?

Well there's over production for one, and then theres wasteage for when not enough eople buy them. go route through the bins at your local supermarket if you care to count, then multiply that by every country on earth.

How do they kill them?

Some places they slit their throat and let them bleed to death, some places they electrocute them, some places they just hack off the head, some places they break their necks, some places they whack em on the head, some places they sacrifice them to gods in who knows what way.

WTF, hope he is punished.

Regardless or not if the system is perfect, when we kill animals for food we do it humanly wherever possible and the animals are then eaten.

this aint the same Tefal and if you think it is then well it says something about your intelligence.

Have i ever said it's ok?

oh and you'd be done for destruction of property too.

, they where causing no harm.

tell that to the fish.

I see these are real facts and figures.

from a human perspective, this is horrible, but an animal won't know what is going on, when they bleed to death all they'd be thinking is "hmm, pretty sleep all of a sudden"

when some crazed scotsman is beating them to a pulp, they'd be thinking "gtfo"

when you cut through that layer of weird crap under your skin it really, ****ing hurts.

so they'd think OMG this hurts then, omg I'm chocking and cant breath, then hopefully their brain would die of blood loss, but ideally (from a butchers point of view) not before their heat beats out most of their blood.

iirc clubbing seals is the general practice for culling etc. crack the skull and smash the brain in.

I dont think it's the same.... tbh

He really wants clubbing the death himself, I'd do it if it was authorised - clubbing him to death that is.

So for clubbing seals to death, he needs to be clubbed to death himself and you would be willing to do it? Do you not see perhaps a little bit of hypocrisy in your statement? :D

He's right though. It is the same. Cruelty to animals is still cruelty, no matter what the motivation. The majority of chickens are not farmed in a human manner and many are not killed humanely either.

In Canada the annual quota for seal hutting (via clubbing to death) is 270,000. The 2007 total kill count was 234,000 seals. This is down from 354,000 the year before.

So it;s ok to club 350k + seals to death so long as you rip the skin from thier corpses afterwards?
