He performs similarly in the prem for me, but as the main goalscorer 11 isn't enough - Rooney usually scores 13+ for me and also gets tons more assists. When I've signed Benzema or Aguero in previous saves they always get 20+ prem goals a season so between them and Rooney I get 35-50 premiership goals a season from my main strikers.A lot of Utd managers do seem to find it hard to get Berba to play well. I have to say that I completely object to his being called Berbaflop. Just because it sounds like the next step up from teraflops in computing.
On my last game I got Berba to score 11 goals in 28 league appearances with 6 assists and 3 Man Of The Match award with an average rating of 7.04.
Thats a decent amount for total goals. How do you see those complete previous season stats?Just found out how to see all the goals a player scored in a previous season and not just league goals! 27 Berba scored for me in the first season.
I paid £4m for him, he normally costs £2.5-4m (I'm guessing depending on what his PA turns out as). I always sign him at the beginning then loan him out so that I have an extra home-grown at club player in 2011 (by then Neville, Scholes and Giggs are retiring or just not worth registering for champs league squad). I send him to Antwerp first season and then whoever will have him after that.
If Welbeck gets a good PA he's worth using as a young prospect for the ST role. Talking about him, his CA just got put up nearly 20 points, if he continues improving he'll be in the right CA range for a -10 PA in fm2010
Will have to wait and see what the researcher does.Rafael improves very quickly for me, and on 9.3 he's had a CA boost of 24 points (he's another that could be in -10 PA range - they say for -10 you need a CA of 130-140 at around 18 years old, he's now on 134) so I wanted someone that I could use in the first team now then sell on at a profit a couple of seasons later - Rafinha and Srna are both good for that, in my previous save I sold Rafinha for £30m after two seasons.I'd have to wait for a 9.3 compatible editor to see Sakho's PA on my previous game save. Yeah, Santon/Opare too young but promising enough to justify signing them right away I think. Srna/Brown/Hargreaves is a pretty decent DR lineup and Rafael will always improve.
Hence why I might just delete his loan to Hull and get rid of him at the beginning to get £3m earlier.
Thats a good idea, I should have done that.
Straight away - set him as transfer listed and offer him to clubs for £30m, with a 50% of next sale clause if you want, Man City will always make you an offer of exactly that.
Actually the budget is exactly the same as it was in 9.2 before Tosic and Ljajic. I'm not sure why it wasn't reduced though.

Possibly because Utd never really spend during windows, generally mid-season and join in windows, so budget is taken away.

First game im just having a bit of fun, so i gave Fulham £15m budget, and created myself as a wonderkid. Till i find all the little niggles in the game, then start a more serious game. Although, my signings haven't been extravagant, general signings for me really;
Razvan Rat - £2.7m
Florin Bratu - £2m
Robert Lewandowski - £1m
Fernandinho - £10m
Main cheat was Fernandinho really, in my 'serious' game, i had the corrrect budgets and managed all of above bar Fernandinho, and Santon/Goossens.
Will play this for a season or two most likely.

I quite like Fletchaldinho, always kept him for a couple of seasons as cover for the midfield.

You can use the provided database editor that comes with FM to edit the database to create a game from. But as for in-game editors, there won't be any that'll work with 9.3. Yet. Wait a week or two for their authors to update them to work with 9.3.
I don't think I managed that! Rooney got 13 league goals in 23 appearances for me. Damn! And I thought I was doing well winning the league. Tevez was 12 from 29 in the league. How on earth are you getting 35-50 goals a season in the league from your strikers?
Go to the Fixtures page. Top right you will see "Season 2009/10" say, to show the current season. Change that to a previous season of your choice. Your previous fixtures for that season will now show. Then to the left of the "Season 2009/10" drop-down is a "Views" button. It is set to "Fixtures". Change it to "Goalscorers". For each game you'll see the names of the players who scored in that game, but only your players! Not goalscorers from both teams. If you see just a name like "Giggs" or "Scholes" that player scored one goal. If you see "Tevez(2)" he scored two goals in that match. A quick and easy was, that I've just discovered this evening, to find out how many goals in all comps a player scored in a previous season.
I think I paid about £4m for him when I first found him on 9.2. I always um and err about buying in youth players; do I keep them at OT in the reserves or u18s OR send them out on loan for first team experience?

I didn't play Rafael much in my first season. Srna was just too good. I probably should aim to give him and Fabio more time in easier games or give them 20 minutes or so at the end of already safe games.

Fifth season finished as newcastle. 130m budget 1.6m wage rising to 2.7m a week ROFL from the start to now.
Won every competition. I now have a dream team including torres (90m), D silva(90m), Sergio ramos (106m), Diarra (90m), Fabregas (140m), Domenico cristico (21m),christian Rodrigues (30m).
Mega cheat mode imo few years time I could buy every star player lolol.
Gonna start again I think and get a more balanced budget (hopefully).

Well I've never managed it using Berbatov. So it's a mixture of my tactics and having a reliable main striker I suppose.
These are the stats for premiership goals from my main strike partnership in my last 9.2 save:
Season 1 - Rooney 13, Berbatov 14 - total 27 goals, so quite low scoring, I edited my tactics ready for the next season. Berb sold to Madrid for £42m.
Season 2 - Rooney 19, Aguero 28 - total 47 goals.
Season 3 - Rooney 15, Aguero 24 - total 39 goals.
Season 4 (after 27 games) - Rooney 14, Benzema 21 - total 35 goals from 27 games. I bought Benzema to be main striker instead of Aguero for no real reason other than I felt like it
Well, a bit of both. I usually leave them in the reserves when they're really young and then send them out on loan when they're 18. Then the season after that make them regular subs (I give them half an hour or so whenever I can) and start them in some cup games. 'Wonderkids' like Camacho, Bojan etc I don't bother sending out on loan, when they're 18 I immediately put then in the first team to be regular subs, unless I can manage to get a premiership club to take them on loan as a valuable first team member.

I never really bothered developing him fully before.I always loan Rafael and Fabio out in the first season ready to come back and be regular subs in the second. I find they develop fairly fast, and I have plenty of cover at full back with Rafinha (or Srna), Brown, Neville, Hargreaves, Evra, Sakho, Evans. Though this new game Fabio picked up an injury so I loaned out Sakho instead of him before the window shut.

What kind of club do you loan Rafael and Fabio out to? Premiership teams? Lower English teams? Or Europe?
I used to, but not really any more as what I'm using seems to be working. I think having a better striker than Berbatov (in-game, I like him as a player in real life) helps a lot though, both the new striker and Rooney end up playing better. Benzema, Aguero and Torres are all perfect strike partners for him. Possibly Vagner Love as well now too, he looks fantastic since the update, would have to be quick to get him though - in my game Real Madrid bought him in the first window for £34.5m.

Yeah. The only thing I'm a bit worried about now is that if I go with Sakho and Evans as future defence, neither of them have the pace of Ferdinand.
Championship teams or Scottish premiership teams. Make sure the club say that they will be a valuable first team member though, there's no point in them going out on loan to be backup. In my new game Rafael has gone to Hearts (I always get them as an affiliated club) because no one wanted to take him on loan, before 9.3 loads of championship teams would offer to take him.
