This is running quite well on another forum. In your opinion what cars simply could not be improved by modifying them? Old or new, doesn't matter, I just ask that you post a pic along with your suggestion. These are mine:

Lotus 11:

Jaguar D Type:

Mercedes 300SL, gull wing or roadster:

Ferrari F40:

It's hard to find a picture of a real one but a 427 Cobra in original trim takes some beating:

In fact, have another picture of one:

Always loved the lines of a Ferrari 250 GTO but I could fill the holes at the front:

And, naturally, there's not much you could do to a Bentley Blower:

I'd argue that anything can be made better than it left the factory, look at the e type / db5 / xjs reviews on top gear, taking an old car and fitting modern parts onto them is always going to improve the power / grip / braking.

I can't think of a single car that ever left the factory without a fault that's later resolved with aftermarket parts, hence making it better.

The Ultimate hyper cars where the only way to improve them would be to crucify them, such as McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda F, even the Bugatti Veyron which could do with some weight reduction but would take away from the essence of the car. All cars can be improved but depends what you want to do to improve them.

Hmm very undecided about the volante and the coupe, I love the coupe, its beautiful yet with the roof down, the volante is one of the sexiest cars ever built. I'm deciding for my old man which one he should go for but it's a tough one!

^urgh re modded

orginal looks awsome, good call, internally thou, deffo be improved with brakes as they obvious choice

how a car looks only matters to girls anyway, 500+bhp

i remmeber pics of this back in the performance car days where it is exiting a tight right hander so hard that the inside from wheel is coming off the ground

I don't believe there's a single car that can't be improved by modding - either aesthetically or performance wise.
