Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Bought the PS3 version last night on a whim when doing the shopping.

Pretty good so far, been using the noobies favorite Ryu!

Hardest character so far was Blanka that ive played against, seemed to outreach me and do his electric move and hammer me.

Will have a few hours on it tonight as the GF is out! :D
 
man this is sooo frustrating, im on 2331 points, everyone coming in seems to be giving me 1-2 points at a time, so it took me an hour to jump like 20 points lol

also i played someone who was ryu but he had a weird ripped blue outfit on, looked like a tramp but it looked cool, any ideas how you unlock costumes???

as far as i was aware the ryu clothes wernt out to buy till next week sometime
 
they are DLC costumes (need to pay) but only the "brawler pack" is out atm in EU which is costumes for gief / abel / el feurte etc. i think.

dunno which region has the ryu costume, japan maybe?
 
As far as I'm aware Colour number 10 is an alternate costume too. I've not yet unlocked them all though, so I could be wrong ;)

I'm pretty sure I read that on the shoryuken forums though.
 
i dont think its an actual new costume but costume 10 is a little more adventurous with the colours, like my ken has black outfit and white hair :D
 
I don't think the D-pad is that bad on the 360. Played it for the first time today and did every move on the first go. Then again, I've had serious practice on Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the dreamcast.
 
the main issue is that its not accurate enough, if i press right a lot of the time i will get up right or down right :/
 
I grabbed this for the 360 yesterday and so far I am impressed. I haven't stepped online with it as I'd get battered left right and center!

I just need to do some reading up on it to figure out all this new terminology with it! All this ultra block attack kick punchy thingy is well over my head! :p

I've not played SF since the megadrive/SNES and arcade versions of the same era.
Is it REALLY that different now or could I start a game with ken and chain a few dragon punch related combo's together like in the good old days?
If its anything like tekkan I'm not interested :)

But please don't - I'm sick of playing against kens that just fireball and dragonpunch.
