As they were one of the first races/people to use Tattooing for the below reason :

"Tattooing commenced at puberty, accompanied by many rites and rituals. In addition to making a warrior attractive to women, the tattoo practice marked both rites of passage and important events in a person's life"

If they feel the need to have them to prove their manhood - they must have a complex there somewhere ...... And surely it's pretty sad they feel the need to do it just to gain a females attention.
