Looooooong time lurker.... but finally got the posting urge ;)

Anyway as my username suggests I am a big Baseball fan and in particular a fan of the game MLB 09: The Show for the PS3 :)

Just wondered if we have any other fans in here? The demo is out on the US Store, and release is in a couple of weeks March 3rd!

Its a cracking game, a huge step up from 08' and with its Road to the Show mode it is probably the best 'BAP' type mode in any game around.

Obviously you have all the other modes you could want, plus some top quality graphics.

The Playstation blog is a good source of info, but at the same time give the demo a go if you have a little interest as you may be surprised!

Its definately worth a go - a huge step up from 08, and considering the demo build is about 2 months old (when compared to what was played at the Community Event, and even then it was being tweaked!) it could easily win Sports GOTY

If anyone here is a little stuck with the game or wants to get involved in an online league for the game, or just chat Baseball etc... my homepage in my profile is a new site dedicated for European players.

Yeah thats a pain with the 360 in that its not region free.... so even getting 2K9 requires waiting for the Asian version I believe.

Your best bet is to get a PS3 ;) (Although that dosent probably help you out right now)
 
Thats fair enough - each to their own, but even on a build thats 2 months old (as was the demo) they had tightened so many features up

You mention the fielding, well that plays a huge part in adjusting the gameplay.... from the realistic animations as players chase down balls, to the new animations that improve the double plays, fielding errors based on ball physics and fielder etc

Then you have the better hitting physics, in that doubles can fly over outfielders heads and the huge variety in shots.

But if you play the demo and then go back to 08... you can see the improvements, so the final product is likely to stand out a lot more.

I understand your opinion though and as with most sports titles....can and do they really get that much better, when all they do year on year is represent the same sport again, with the same rules....

Its worth checking out all the new features though - as the Show was and is the best game on the market, to which they have just improved again for this year :)
 
I'll probably get it, just not right at release cos of KZ2.

I got 07 and 08 at release, great games.
