Any reason not to buy pre owned console from certain high street shops ? they come with a 12 month warranty just like new ones.

Anyone had a bad experience ? I could get a pre owned with 20gb for around 110.

Don't see the point of buying new if pre owned is the same warranty of 12 months ?

Can you still hook up the non hdmi models to a pc monitor and amp ?

I am getting street fighter 4 i cannot wait any longer.

Should I be getting a wired controller for sf4 ? or are the wireless liveable until the fightpads are available/down n price a bit.

I've not had trouble with the voucher, not on an xbox per se but used it for other stuff like live points, band in a box and a new moby without probs (not at the same time of course)

It could be modded and banned from xbox live. That's reason enough for me to never buy a second hand xbox.

But if you're not worried about live then go for it.

I've seen brand new 20GB Pro consoles for £130 including VAT and delivery. You actually get a 3 year warranty on new consoles for the 3 red lights, as well as the 1 year for all other issues.

Personally I'd rather pay the extra £20 to get the full 3 year RROD warranty (this could be expired or near expiry on a used console) and I'd personally also rather have everything all nice and clean with manuals etc.

It's worth forking out an extra 20 quid in my opinion. You also don't know what the previous owner has done with it - they might've modded it, got it flagged for ban and then unmodded it before trading it in, so you could end up being banned at a later date for no reason. Not worth chancing.

Best is to phone in to order your system with the voucher code. This will guarantee to work for new customers only.

Have decided to buy from a high street store so I can get a 12.1a jasper guaranteed will just add a hard drive later would rather go for a jasper than get an elite even at £150.

Will be interesting to see what the shops say when I demand to look at the box or tell them I want a 21.1a one :) I can imagine one or two point blank refusing to help.

No 12.1a no sale :D

I think you are looking into this Jasper thing way too much, won't really be worth the extra effort might as well just get an Elite rather than pay extra down the line for a hard drive.

well if theres less chance of getting rrod and going without your 360 not to mention the postage costs I am all for it.

All you are getting with the elite is the hdmi cable which I don't need and 120gb hard drive which you can get for £60 it's not like the hard drive costs £100+

Most shops will be fine with you checking stock. Went round with a friend who asked to check serial numbers and power rating when he bought his elite :p

Just get the premium with hdmi, 120gb is a lot! save some notes should be able to get 2 wireless controllers and sf4 combo somewhere for same price as the elite.

It's pre-owned? That would be reason enough for me. ;)

Lesser/Invalid warrenty.
Could be banned.
Could have been mistreated.

They're dirt cheap anyway, just save up another week or something.

even if MS said that Jaspers will not RROD (didn't they say this about Falcons, lol) there is still the famous e74 errors and dodgy cheap dvd drives

Exactly it's become an obsession. As soon as they announce a new chipset every where you look thats all people care about.

I hardly know any of any falcons that have gone belly up.

Chances are you wont be covered when your drive packs up anyway and starts giving you dirty disc and freeze ups.

I wouldn't worry about which model I bought. I would just extend the warranty and cover all your bases.

I would never buy an xbox 360 second hand unless it came with a 12 month warranty (which i doubt it will)

Well I've seen one RROD after 3 weeks, granted it was just a single experience. It terms of heat out put they are the same as the new falcons....

If I had the choice of getting a jasper over a falcon I would, but I wouldnt waste anytime going out of my way for one.
