85 Million mega jackpot !?

I've got a couple of tickets ... figure i have more chance of winning (however slight that chance may be) by buying a ticket than by not buying one ...

Best £1.50 you can ever spend.
Such value for money imo - I spend all day dreaming of what I can do with all the winnings etc :)

Shh, the more people by tickets, the less chance I have of scooping the lot.

See, I've always wondered why people think this.

The Euromillions draw has a jackpot win odds of 1 in 76,000,000. That's purely because of the balls. How many people buy tickets doesn't affect your chance of winning at all.

A cheeky 25 of us at work have put in for one lucky dip each. If we win itl only be ~3.5mil each :(

Going to buy with 4 or 8 lines this afternoon for msyelf :D

Of course it does.
If someone else wins, then he has to split the cash with them

It doesn't make his chance of winning the jackpot any lower though...

Edit: I've misread that fellows original post, he's talking about getting the lot, I thought he was saying his chances of winning were lower if more people bought it, which is an opinion i've heard a lot of people voice.

What's 85 million in the current financial crisis? It won't buy a packet of Ryvitas come July.

That is a very interesting point. In the current climate will you bother splitting that money into lots of accounts? Perhaps buy quiet a few houses and rent them out?
